Halo UB out
See topic in Games: http://www.macaddict.com/forums/topic/86449
650MB, and costs $5. Looks like you have to burn a new CD for/with it, probably the copy protection ("Please note that you will need your newly created Halo CD each time you wish to play Halo"). Still investigating to see if it has any other enhancements over the last, 12/04 Mac patch, like better shaders.

Oh wait, I see why its soo poor, you got your rez maxxed at 1680x1050. No way a 7300 could handle that.

Yes but you either have twice or quadruple the amount of cores. Not to mention VRAM and RAM and and and...

Re: Halo UB out
It's the videocard. 1680x1050 is pushing it for a 7300, but it's blurry at non-native res and not hella faster.
A 2.66 and 2GB RAM would've been a better balance, but now you can upgrade the card and RAM in future- then again, now you can upgrade the CPU as well, tho not as easily.
Anyway, get a 1900 or newer card later when you can afford it for gaming bliss. Maybe the DX10 cards will be out for Mac by that ($) time. PCIe will be standard a long time, so you're set. Next year's midrange cards should be as fast as today's high end.

It'd need to be magical to do that well.

I'm getting more RAM very soon. As for the video card. I plan on holding off for about a year. By then my school work will require a fast GPU, so it will be justifiable.

He had to have meant an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement). I gotta say, I'm curious to know what secrets are being withheld. Oh well. Hey macmenace, I gotta ask, whatever it is, it is gonna be great?
