MacBook Pro Super Drive Design Flaw?

I have a two month old MacBook Pro 15".  From the start the Superdrive would read maybe 1 or 5 disks, so I had it replaced under warranty.  A week later, I had my laptop back but the problem persists.

I've heard other similar complaints, and I'm trying to figure out how widespread the problem is.  Right now I'm warning people to stay away from the MacBook Pro.

Any one else having this problem?  More importantly, if you had this problem and resolved it, how did you do so?  Thanks!

Re: MacBook Pro Super Drive Design Flaw?

I have no problem with my mbp dvd burner beside the drive read and burn cd/dvd very slowly, I guess that is the price one pay for a .01 thinner laptop compare to pb.

Yup, I have just put my order in for a Lacie refub external burner.

Re: MacBook Pro Super Drive Design Flaw?

I've just noticed that my superdrive is also acting up.  I first noticed it when I burned a DVD with my MPB that the same laptop can't read!  (The DVD is fine; plays well on every other player.)  I'll be taking it into the Apple Store in the very near future...unfortunately i need it for work, and I'll probably have to drop it off overnight so they can dump all my info to the new one or swap hard drives (not sure which they prefer).
