Oh! Well then you totally deserve it. Cause at first I didn't believe it and then I thought you were some rich kid fooling around with your parents money.
Thanks for helping the country, too

No problem lol. I use my regular pay to buy the things I want like the MacPro because I live at home with my parents ATM. I got $100,000 from my life insurance after being injured severly, which is what is allowing me to purchase the condo (and my 740 credit score
).

Oh, and the VA gave me a one-time auto grant of $11,000 for a car so that's how I got the Yaris and then used some of the $100,000 to pay the rest off immediatly so I have no payments.

(sorry for off-topic...sy?)
I don't see any website links in his posts, or signature, or anything.
EDIT: Ok got it now. I see those in the news all the time, and while I don't just think nothing of it, it's really hard to relate to. You've made me realize on a semi personal level how painful and real it is. Thanks for serving America and your driver is in my prayers.
So back to topic?

Man I am glad I am not 20 something anymore. Insurance for cars goes down a lot when you get over 30, but only if you have a clean record.
Insurance for my MX-5 is about $90 a month.

But does it go up again when you hit 70? Because it really should.

In California, it goes down significantly after 9 years of driving (not age 25) and a clean record, or if you become a parent and you're the custodial parent.

Re: Just got a new car...damn insurance!
Got back off my hols (vacation) yesterday to find my car tax and insurance renewals waiting for me.
Tax for the year is £125, insurance is £412 - a real "Welcome Home"
Actually, combined they cost more than the two-week holiday I just went on, including spending... Money grabbing bastards!! [Actually that could apply equally to the British Government, insurance companies and (edit: some of) the native Tunisians I recently encountered.] **No Offence**

I didn’t read all of this but as an insurance agent I can say there are allot of things that can go into your rate and I mean allot. Zip code driving record credit score (were applicable) age occupation if you’re a member of any sort of national organizations or group etc. One bit of advice I would give anyone is never take it personal. Insurance is a shared risk venture. Your rate is complied off tons of data with everyone else who shares even one thing in common with you. Also congrats on getting a quote before you bought the car I have to deal with many (especially young males under 24 and females over 30) who just buy a car and expect the insurance to be the same or in some cases cheaper "because its new" or one of my favorites "do you give discounts to deaf students" sorry small tangent there good luck with that new vehicle if you have any questions feel free to PM me. Also please ignore any spelling/grammar mistakes its 3:27 AM I am up because I am nervous of all things a football game tomorrow!

On second thought your 90 Grand is soon to be gone so yes I agree you are getting screwed over.

Why are females over 30 a higher risk? Are they getting nervous? Are they so upset they are over 30 they take risks cause they don't want to see another year? what?
I'm not dead yet.

Keep in mind that insurance laws vary widely from state to state. For instance, it's now illegal to use zip codes. Insurance companies have until 2008 to comply. Mine already has.

Not at all but it seems most females over 30 just seem to think they are in the lowest risk category I dont know who spreads this info around but people have all these odd ideas regarding insurance. I want to kick whoever said red cars are more to insure I dont know nor care what color your car is. I suppose its possible some company out there is underwriting for that but I have no idea why.

Insurance companies are gangsters, plain and simple. Whatever they quote you, convert it to metric - ie, double it and add 32 ($ or %, whichever is bigger). That'll get you in the ballpark, if you're lucky. Then be prepared to be shocked when you get the bill.
