Who has a 1TB Mac?
I'm interested to know, does anyone have a Terabyte plus Mac as their home desktop machine?
My criteria is this:
• Any desk bound Mac.
• Firewire/USB cases are allowed to be counted, but must always connected for storage. (No counting iPods, your laptop in Target disk mode or your roommate's HDs)
For example, I have a permanent FW400 case with 2x 160GB HDs and a 320GB and the iMac has the 160GB. A nice total of 800GB. (Only using around 550GB) Another 320GB will be joining the rig in a matter of weeks. Just for braging rights.
What cha' got?

I have 80gb in my PB 12" and three external Lacie 320gb firewire disks. But I am think about by one of those Western Digital My Book Premium Edition 500GB USB2.0/Firewire drives does anyone know anything about them. The LAcie's are kinda noisy and I need something a bit quieter.

2-320 GB hdd, 1-300 GB hdd, 1-160 Gb hdd, 1-80 GB hdd in my g4, for a total of 1180 GB
1.02 TiB of total hdd space, 1053GiB used, 45 GiB free.
also 1-120 GB hdd and 1-100GB hdd that are swapped in from time to time to use as backups for the most important info.(not counted in above calculations)
thinking of getting a new mac pro and putting 4 500 Gib hard drives inside and using this mac as a backup server.

I can remember working at Oracle in the mid 90's and having a conversation in the elevator about how mind blowing TB servers were.
hehe, not so mind blowing anymore. A TB on several pokey hard disks can be had for under $300.

Re: Who has a 1TB Mac?
300+300+200+160+160+80+60+30+30=1320GB
all accessible from anywhere on the household LAN.
but to play fair, one 60G is in the powerbook.
so wired is only 1260G
I just haven't the desire to hook up the other 200G more or less of other drives laying around.
I do plan on getting at least 4 of the 500's to replace the list with tho.

I will get 2x500 GB in my Mac Pro whenever I buy it. But I plan to use very little of that for a long time. The amount of hard drive space some of you claim to have used up is mind-boggling.

Not yet. I have a 120GB in my MacBook and I'm using the stock 60GB as my external in a firewire enclosure. My MacPro is going to have just one 250BG drive for now. I'll upgrade as I need it, but for now it's fine. I use most of the space for pictures and have only about 10GB of music. I really want to get more into video though.

I also specified on one machine, not total at home. More interesting that way. The network share is great BTW, but I was thinking dedicated. Like so...
One iMac to be proud of!
