Problem using Nostromo N50 with Mac Pro

I recently got my hands on a new Mac Pro, and I have come accross one problem:

When I try to use my Nostromo Speedpad N50 with it (under OS X 10.4.7), the device is not found.  It does not matter which USB port I plug into (front, back, keyboard, or monitor).  All the ports work with other devices and my N50 works fine with my other computers (also using 10.4.7) and is also seen by the Mac Pro when I am using Bootcamp and Windows XP.

Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?

Probably because there are no drivers for it. Download the trial version of USB Overdrive, and see if it recognizes it.

Is it seen by System Profiler?

I have one, although it is in storage until we move.  It basically acts like "half a keyboard".  You might check to se if the company ever updated their drivers.

I have the n52. What you probably need is a piece of software with which you set the keys. I'm not sure but this might help

Ops blush, I reread your post and saw that you've already had it working with other computers so then you probably also have this software. Strange though that it isn't recognised at all. Give usb-overdrive a try.

Re: Problem using Nostromo N50 with Mac Pro

I have been using the Nostromo n50 SpeedPad driver v1.1.  It works on my G4 pBook (with 10.4.7), but not on the Mac Pro.

I will check and see if USB Overdrive works with it tonight, but I don't think that it even showed up in the System Profiler.

When I contacted Belkin, they said that they don't support my OS (even though the driver I use is right there on their web site). confused

Belkin doesn't have Intel OS X drivers available. Now go & try USB Overdrive

USB Overdrive worked (it was seen by System Profiler as "USB Device").  Now to pay the shareware fee to get rid of that annoying pop-up, ha.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Re: Problem using Nostromo N50 with Mac Pro

Thanks (much belatedly) MrEddy.  I did finally get that and it works well.
