No, the snopes article references to the folklore behind it to be fasle; even they recognize that it's phallic, it just wasn't done on purpose, much like the Meet the Robinson's teaser poster.

Observant. He was definitely here from the phpbb -> punbb transition and the ad fiasco because he was an integral part in the inspiration of getting CH54 started.

Ironically, I've been told that if under NSFW there's a "latest post" by fido, people usually just ignore until someone else posts. Because then they know content is there.
