Tabbrowser Preferences 1.3.0 now works on Firefox 2.0
Its OK, but I prefer Tab Mix Plus (which doesn't yet) as it adds some of the more obvious tab features - like allowing a Bookmark to directly open a new tab. Not sure why Firefox (and for that matter, Safari and IE7) have such rudimentary controls of their tabs as their default...Yay!

DAMN IT! Same thing happens.
::deactivates extension::I've found that Tab Browser Preferences (including version 1.3.1) works with Firefox 2.0 on Windows XP just fine, but not on Mac OS X.
I guess oatie and I will have to wait until it gets fixed.
EDIT: included version number 1.3.1.
How very odd. My Tabbrowser Preferences (now at 1.3.1) installed and is running fine within Firefox with my MacBook running 10.4.8...
Houston, we have a problem?

Did you or MleB install Tab Browser Preferences for the first time in Firefox 2, or were you using it with an earlier version of Firefox and have Firefox 2 update TBP during the startup?

Hmmm....I tried it for about 5 minutes. I couldn't type within any text boxes (such as the ones used to make posts here). Switched back to safari.

I was using Tab Mix Plus on my earlier Firefox, but that was noted as incompatible when I upgraded to 2.0, so I dumped that. The new Firefox Add-ons page listed Tabbrowser Preferences 1.3.0 as OK with 2.0, so I downloaded and installed that fresh - no upgrade involved. Since then, its upgraded itself further to 1.3.1.
Works fine, but again, its a little thin on the tab controls I'd like...

Re: Something wrong with Firefox 2.0?
Well, I wiped out Firefox completely from my PowerBook (OS X 10.3.9) and reloaded it again, but it did not effect how Tab Browser Preferences misbehaves on my PB.

Re: Something wrong with Firefox 2.0?
Not that I know much about all this (I've only just returned to the OS after a decade away) but when you deleted Firefox 'completely' did you remove all vestiges of it from the computer's (and your personal) Library - including Preferences?
I'm wondering if stuff (with old settings - including the non-working Tabbrowser) was left behind and the fresh install simply accepted these as previously set personal settings? Just a thought - its that sort of thing that's supposed to happen in WinOS and not MacOS machines....

I did a hard drive search for all files or folder with "Firefox" or "Mozilla" in their names, including those in the Libraries, personal and system. I got rid of all except the program itself and the backup of my bookmarks. I also delete the old profile fiolder so that Firefox created a new one upon starting.
As far as I understand it: the settings for any extensions should be stored in the Extensions folder within my Firefox profile. I suppose that Tab Browser Preferences might save something somewhere else, but it did work fine under Firefox 1.5.x on my PB.
I don't think I've rebooted during this time--I'll give that a try when I get home.
