Hints about Diablo 3
Even though it hasn't been officially announced yet, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Blizzard is working on Diablo 3, thanks to the massive response given to the first two games in the action-RPG series (both have sold millions of copies each and continue to sell well). Fan site Diablo3.com has some quotes from an interview with author Richard A. Knaak who is writing a trilogy of new novels based on Diablo. One question about his working with Blizzard on the novel yielded this response from Knaak which is perhaps the biggest hint yet that Diablo 3 is indeed in the works:
This is a pure collaboration between myself and Chris/Blizzard. All that is written is passed by him and the others there. This will be canon and has adjusted earlier info. The ramifications here will be used for any future project...and I ain't writing for a dead game.

Re: Hints about Diablo 3
As long as they don't change it into a WoW MMORPG, I might actually play a 3rd Diablo game. I never even played 2 online, I just liked the atmosphere of the single player game.

Too bad most of the creative minds behind the Diablo series left Blizzard North long ago…

I played D2 almost religiously. It was a great game, and the online community was... special. Don't get me wrong, I played online more than single player, but it was hard finding people you liked that weren't your friends already.

I have to agree. I like the single player best. I won't play the online stuff. I know I'm missing out on alot, but do I care?

You might want to know that there are what known as uber-levels available with the on-line version which take you beyond the end of the standard game. These levels are such that a 90+ level character will find them just about impossible to do alone (I know--I've tried).
