I know there's something close in [MA]Halo that helped get Halo 2 players together. Let's expand on that and have a dedicated thread for Gamertags. Like the newer DS link threads.

So post your gamertag here and let's build up some buddy lists.

Old tag was LLEVIATHANN. When I got back on MS wouldn't lemme have it back 'cause it had been in active for too long. So if that is what you have kill it. Replace with...

I've been a member quite awhile, but since I haven't actually had time to play nor even connect, I'm afeared the same awaits me when I get the 'Box hooked up and my old 'tag info dug out to get the 360 on the account. I'll post mine when that latter biz is accomplished.

Well connection doesn't matter. Only if you've kept your account in good standing. I let mine expire and didn't renew in 90 days. After 90 days they lock the account, thus killing the tag that went with it.

Unsurprisingly, the current tag is MA Bat.

A bit surprisingly, migration is not going as swimmingly as might be. I might wind up with a new account and tag at this rate.

I finally have a solid need/use for my 3+ -year-old router, and now it looks like the problems of the last few years had the side effect of separating the 5v/2A power supply from the rest of the package. Simple stuff, this XBL. hmm

See Games for an item on problems with the Fall Update, now fixed.

Don't know how soon I'll be playing, this is my first real experience with XBL and time is tight (haven't even fired up GoW yet[!])- but I do hope to get in on the whole Emergence Day thing. Anyway this is mostly new and time's tight, so don't take any decline or inaction as unfriendly. For that matter, until I find that PSU, the router won't get set up and I'll have to power off everything and switch cables just to get the Box online. Also much equipment moving scheduled soon {huff, puff...}. Dangit, I'm already tuckered just from signing up and DLing a few trailers. smile

All that and I find the big Fall Update doesn't add any new VGA rezzes beyond 1080p. I was at least hoping for a couple intermediates like 1680x1050 & 16*12... shouldn't be hard. All that just to get a bullet point vs. Sony. Grr.

At least it didn't brick my machine. (Word of caution; apparently HD-DVD decoding uses all 6 threads the CPU can do, hence pushes the Box harder than any game, so maybe one of those Nyko Intercooler thingies is good insurance vs. heat issues.

Thanks. Since the case apparently fits well, and my 360 has locked up a few times on Halo 2, I might nab one anyway and mod it to be externally powered, maybe use better fans, too, eventually. Mostly just stripping out the USB plug-in, I expect.

Side note, anyone know if Pavehammer (old Overlord of clan MA H2) is still active? His tag dissapeared off my friends list a while back, though that might have been because I took an extended leave from Live.

Don't waste your money.

I'm an employee of GameStop here in Iowa, and we get constant reports of boxes overheating and such. The one service we offer, slightly in-house, is that we make house calls to help people set up systems and such. I ran out to look at a guy's system and pick up his box for repairs due to overheating. The reason it did such was because it was in an enclosed space, with his VCR directly on top.

If you've got a 360, leave it in the open. Mine is actually sitting outside of my entertainment center, with at least 8 inches on all sides open. It gets hot, yes, but I haven't had an issue with overheating, nor has anyone else who follows those simple instructions.

Granted, the Nyko Intercooler has been proven to lower temps in the 8 or 10 big "hotspots" of the box by 10-25 degrees. However, it's just not needed.
