Neat photo concept

http://ace.methodcomputers.com/ghost/

Some guy took photos of places around here from 50+ years ago, and then took photos of the same places now, then overlayed them so the elements match up, then added a slider to change the transparency. It's pretty neat to see how things change over time (see trees grow up and stuff).

You have to click that link, then click links at the bottom, then mess with the sliders.

Re: Neat photo concept

That's cool! But what happened to pictures 4, 6 and 7? confused

Here's another one from my home city of Vancouver, Canada. It's also pretty neat, but the cool transition from one photo to the next only works in Internet Exploder for Windows (don't know about IE7):

You can still see the changes by clicking on the link under "Alternative viewing methods" and then mousing over the images.

That was sweet, and yes it works in IE7 smile

Cool idea. I'm going to have to find out how he did that.

Yeah, that is a really neat idea.  It could really evolve into something awesome.

Re: Neat photo concept

What'd be even better would be to take a picture every year for say, 50 years, and then do that with them.

Re: Neat photo concept

Here is another slider photo, this time of the Seattle waterfront. Sorry, the sliding version requires IE4.
