Security with Screen saver?
I run folding on my ibook and my mac at work. I've noticed a "security hole" when using the screensaver version, along with the security of having to use your password to unlock the screensaver. If you put in the wrong password, or just hit return, then hit another key to bring up the password dialog box again, hitting any key will terminate the screensaver. Can anybody else confirm this? I have the same issue on two different macs, so I don't think it is me. Is there a programmer for folding@home that hacks the stuff for macs together I can contact about this?

Re: Security with Screen saver?
I use the console (CLI) client client, so I can't help. I suspect that this is the case with most of us on the team.
I recommend posting this on the Folding Community Forums. They have posters from all of the teams, and they may be able to help you.

Re: Security with Screen saver?
Why didn't I see this earlier? Unfortuneately the screen saver client is NOT for you if you desire security. It's a bug that I know has been reported, but they obviously deem it not that important.
There is also another SERIOUS flaw with it, the bottom left hand side of the screen is a static image....what happens when you have a static image on the screen for too long... BURN IN (for a CRT anyway) My wife's iMac now has the Folding@Home logo permanently burned into her screen (SHE hasn't noticed it YET)

Re: Security with Screen saver?
I said screw it, and went back to the gui version. I can't really remember now why I switched to the ss version. Meh.
I didn't even consider the static image part. And there is now way to tell how many wu's you have done, like in the windows version. Oh well.
