input menu flag
why do I have a colored flag when the rest of my menu extras are black and white? does anyone know where the flag files are so that I can change it to a black and white image. I have looked all over the place and I can't find it.
the closest thing I've found so far is in
/System/Library/Keyboard Layouts/Unicode.bundle/Contents/Resources/
seems to me it should be in the Roman.bundle file but it's not there.
please help

Re: input menu flag
I use the Australian layout and it gives me the Australian flag. It's dark enough.

What's wrong with a little color?
nothing I guess. it just that I want to see what it looks like in b&w. I find it odd that they went through the trouble of makeing all the other menu extras black and then decide to go color on the input menu flag.

Re: input menu flag
I liked it better when it was just the character palette icon. And the spotlight icon is blue. And my YouControl icon is dark blue. You just need more crap in your menu bar

Re: input menu flag
I thought I already had too much stuff up there. I have Xmenu, cute clips (I have alredy changed cc to b&w), input menu, airport, bluetooth, Wclock and of course spotlight. I don't have a lot of space on my 12" pb
maybe I should just give up… or maybe I'll make the other menu extras have a bit of color to them.
or maybe I'll just add more crap to my menu bar.

Re: input menu flag
Do you actually use different input methods? All I used the input menu for was opening the character palette and keyboard viewer so I wrote a pair of AppleScripts to open those and put them in the script menu and removed the input menu.

Re: input menu flag

Re: input menu flag
For Keybard Viewer you can either add these apps on your Dock or make aliases inside ~/Library/Scripts (they'll show up in your Script menu if you do the later):
Code:
/System/Library/Components/KeyboardViewer.component/Contents/SharedSupport/KeyboardViewerServer.app /System/Library/Components/CharacterPalette.component/Contents/SharedSupport/CharPaletteServer.app
1. Instill fear.
2. ???????? (use your imagination)
3. Profit!
