PvP Gear Outrage
PvP GM weapons in two days. That's a load of BS - not only does it slight those of us grinding out ZG / MC / BWL and beyond, I cannot imagine the disgust a person who spent three months of their gaming life in the Battlegrounds earning the weapons and armor befitting their status.
When Perdition's Blade dropped for me last night after being in MC for about three months I was happy, but with the current EZMode of the GM lewt I wasn't elated.
GG Blizz.

Meh, all the gear is completely outclassed in tbc anyway.

Outrage? Seriously? I think it's great because I'm amused by people outraged over a perceived slight to their video game man.

Would you rather the gear you got in raid be useless in pvp?

Are you attempting to flame me? Try harder.

I don't understand that argument. As far as "my gear" goes, it's a safe assumption T1 won't get me too awfully far in BC, yet it's still as difficult to get - if not more difficult to get since Blizz decided to cross faction drop Pally and Shammie gear preemptively. Why didn't they up drop rates for ZG / T1 / T2 / etc.? Better yet, make it nubsauce to obtain like the PvP lewt. For example:
Raddyn walks into MC
/jump every 5 minutes for a weekend.
Perdition's Blade appears in inventory. GG.
My contention is the accolade so few earned was cheapened by this broad EZMode4Epix from last week. Incidentally, Blizz has recognized this, and reduced the Honor Rewards by 30% from now on. If it (PvP gear ease) was implemented for the casual gamer, it would appear they (casuals) are - once again - screwed. The only people really racking up huge honor last week were the Premades… which are all larger, raiding guilds.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
It wasn't an attempt at anything.
I see now that you just want to feel OUTRAGE. MC will do that to most people.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
I was referring how priest and druid raid gear is generally useless in pvp.
Additionally, after the hot-patch today you gain 30% less honor so it takes longer to get the pvp gear.

Don't chase a single horde alone. They're usually running to their friends.

Yes actually it *IS* the point.
This patch is TBC preparation, plain and simple. The level 70 HWL/GM sets and weapons are *not* epic, although there are some epic items still available at 70 through the honor system (Boots, Bracers, Cloak, Belt, and maybe some rings, necks and trinkets, iirc), you can no longer get a full epic set + weapons at 70 just through world/bg PvP. The new PvP focus at 70 is going to be the arena, where you *can* finish out an epic set and obtain epic weapons.
The patch is just a backport of the TBC beta minus the new content + level cap, to implement the new mechanics in advance, which are NOT well balanced for level 60 and the old itemization. It sucks, but thats just how its going to be for the next month, and then the cap will be raised and these changes which *are* tested and balanced with level 70 in mind will make a lot more sense. In a month being level 60 will mean nothing.. no one cares about level 50 balance now, and no one will care about level 60 balance in a month.
Frankly I wouldn't be all that excited about Perd's dropping with the expansion coming out in a month even if they hadn't pushed the honor system changes to live - level 60 Outland blues outclass MC Epics anyway - the first Hellfire Citadel run I did on the beta server I replaced my OEB with a blue polearm, so raiding MC for loot is really a waste of time at this point. Keep raiding for the next month if you find it enjoyable or if you want to help your guild get better as a group - the loot is a non-issue now.

I would think they'll reevaluate the loots drops for 60s and readjust everything?

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
I don't think so, they haven't made significant changes to old loot yet on beta, so I doubt they are planning to at all.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Its really not a big deal, there are green quest rewards in outland that compare favorably even to MC gear.. lol.
No one is going to be using current gear, even Naxx gear, in a few months.

You should also see some of the crafted gear. It isn't that bad.

Yep, definitely some nice crafted gear past the current cap, especially for the blacksmithing specializations.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Keep in mind though that having great gear certainly won't hurt you. I for one had never PvPd before on my pally but now I'm going at it like a madman to get the Grand Marshals War Hammer, or whatever it's called, because I know that it's added power will certainly help me level. I see what Blizz did as kinda a way to level the playing field so that the people in T3 will only be leveling three times faster than the rest of us--as opposed to four or five times. Besides, it's a fun way to kill time!
I'm nearly wetting myself with desire to play in the ranked arena.
I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Lets be honest - for the first couple of weeks you're going to be limited by spawn rate, not kill rate. The Outland zones are going to be so overcrowded it will be ridiculous.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Grand Marshal's Dirk in just under two weeks, with moderate playtime. I love it. I should be able to rake in my blue PVP set in about another two weeks, I believe.

1 weekend and I have my epic PVP shoulders. Or I can go for the helm, but Id rather hold out and see if I can get Bloodfang Hood, it's comparable

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
.5 requires finding all of the level 0 gear, then going through an incredibly convoluted quest chain ending in a incredibly difficult 10 man fight. Easily more difficult then 30 mannin' MC.
