Re: PvP Gear Outrage
I suppose, but then again without a guild with 30 reliable 60s getting all of your tier one could take a very, very long time. Oh well, it's all useless now! Naxx at 70 FTW. I can finally see all of those dungeons I missed out on before.
I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Oh I'd like to disagree. My guild was in an alliance and I promise you, taint a raid with as little as 15 idiots and you'll never get past Baron. If I had a nickle for every time I've seen somebody be made the bomb, not realize, and wipe the raid, I'd probably have close to 70 cents.
We're not in that alliance anymore.

Oh, if you have a few good people (and probably of the right class) in tier 2 plus you can probably drag a raid of about 20 or so idiots through mc.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
NAG, I hate you because you're pointing out to me exactly what we don't have, and exactly why I'm looking for a more... shall we say "efficient" guild. I love a handful of the people in my guild but getting nothing done is seriously starting to get on my nerves. Maybe the new, easier to get, pvp gear will help solve the equipment issue!
It is the purplez that make a player good, right?

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
No. When I raided, I ate the rest of my guild for breakfeast heal wise (2nd highest total healing, 2nd lowest over heal (less then 5%))... and I have some pretty smurfy gear (4/8 T2, 3/8 T1 and a smattering of other blues/epics) when compared to their 8/8 T2 and parts of T3.

Yeah... that's more or less what I was getting at. Still though, when talking to a player with no epic items at all be careful what you call smurfy!

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
I like to rank healers as how well they can keep people from dying rather than stats. Those heal meters are freaking stupid. They lobotomize people preventing them from learning the feel of it. Healing is way more of an art than a science.
Frankly, I think you can tell more about a healer by how they act out of combat than in.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Personally, I might spend the first month after the expansion hits finishing up my High Warlord's set. Those first couple zones are going to be a big crowded mess, and Alterac Valley won't be such a humongous disaster once the imbeciles start to level out of it.
I find raiding horribly boring, and I'm glad I can PvP for gear without sacrificing my entire life to avoid honor decay. I've ground two characters through the ranks pre-patch, and nothing sucks more than spending an entire week PvPing after you hit rank 9 and getting a 3% gain.
Back to the original topic, Blizzard made the PvP epics easier to attain simply to give players something to do pre-expansion. I know on my server, Twisted Nether, people were already giving up on raiding in November because they were reluctant to continue grinding instances for soon-to-be-outdated loot (it was kind of nice, actually, because it resulted in a resurgence of world PvP because raiding schedules weren't so tight). A number of goons in my guild even opted to let their subscriptions lapse until the expansion was out. This was just a stop-gap measure to keep people busy until the new candy was released.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Well said. I'm finding myself with very little patience to get even 40k honor. I'll have to settle for the sword.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
Back to the outrage, I was replacing my ZG epics with greens within an hour or two of questing in the Outlands, and some of the drops in the first couple instances rival HWL gear. It's awesome.

Re: PvP Gear Outrage
I'm starting to loose interest in the game anyhow, as it seems to appeal to hard core gamers for end game material, where the rest of the levels are hodge podge of mismatched gear that desperately needs to be normalized, and serious gaps for particular classes during parts of their leveling career.
Basically the game is dull in mid levels unless high population server with others content to hang out at mid levels. But then when you get to end-game, you'll have to be lifeless to raid and get loots. In the end, 20 to 40 pounds later, messed up life, lost professional and personal opportunities, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment with some purples one can flaunt in front of others to feel special, a sense of pride and accomplishment, then the next expansion comes out...
