That looked like a fan video to me (but I didn't read to text).
They kind of have a point though, wireless connectivity in a music player is a cool feature (assuming the interface isn't crap).
Except that if I had a zune, i'd have to travel long and far to find someone to share some music with.

If I had an on-line dictionary, I would use this video as an illustration of "FUD".

They're comparing apples to oranges.
He talks about the most difficult situation possible to get a song onto your iPod (Downloading it, setting up your account to buy it, then sync it) with how the Zune shares songs with other Zunes. Those aren't the same thing at all.

Yeah, that's the point. The iPod CAN'T share music. So if you wanted your friend to hear the song you were listening to, unlike with a Zune when you can zap it to him wirelessly, you have to go buy the song, then sync it with the iPod (or plug your headphones in to your friend's mp3 player).

smurf wireless. I prefer jacking in with friends or cute girls on the train. OK. The only time that happened she actually wanted to try my headphones, not listen to my music. Whatever.
I still want to know who decided brown was a feature.

Re: Microsoft takes a swipe at Apple's "I'm a Mac" ads
Err... that spoof commercial showed one situation for the Zune, and one for the iPod which were completely different.
For one, the end result of the Zune guy is having a song on his Zune for 3days/3plays, whereas the iPod guy has the song permanently. Also, the Zune shared the song wirelessly, and the iPod bought the song. Two different things.
And sharing is not a 1-click operation on the Zune, and is not "sharing" either, according to your average MP3 player user.

Astroturfing is a fake grass roots movement. In this case, it specifically takes the form of a business created commercial spoof posing as a fan created one.

The latest tern for it is viral marketing, which was then changed to guerilla marketing by penny arcade. I prefer the first term as it is more accurate in my opinion.

That's too bad. Mine is filled with all of the CDs I purchased and then ripped.
I'll turn myself in tomorrow.

I thought guerilla marketing was like that guy that came up to me outside the bar the other night, asked for a light, and then proceeded to tell me about "these new eclipse cigarettes." He gave me one and walked off.

Re: Microsoft takes a swipe at Apple's "I'm a Mac" ads
So does MS have a copyright waiver in place from all music sources? Cuz as far as I know even sharing for just 3 days is still pirating.

Actually, you can be legal without buying from iTMS but you need a physical CD or artist distributed music.

Microsoft doesn't need a copyright waiver, only the users would. The DRM-limits are voluntary on Microsoft's part to chum up to the RIAA.

I know. What I was getting at is that MS is specifically promoting pirating via its wireless as an advantage over an iPod.
Zune: Makes illegally sharing easier!! Another fine product from Microsoft..

So if you want to share music on a Zune, you can "squirt" it over to them, they listen to it a few times, a few days later it expires, so you try to squirt it to them again, when they figure out that you can only squirt it once, and then they have to go to the Zune marketplace and go through the same exact steps as the iPod?

Re: Microsoft takes a swipe at Apple's "I'm a Mac" ads
It is just plain stupid. Whenever I am listening to my iPod (usually on a plane flight), I really don't want to be bothered; unless she is hot and has a good personality.
I also listen at work, but usually pretty low unless I am hacking or something...then it is real loud.
