MacAddict Forums Migration Plan
This is a message from the Macaddict/Mac|Life staff.
We are launching the new www.maclife.com on Monday, January 8, 2007. We will be migrating the current www.macaddict.com forums as a part of the site launch. The same PunBB software and all current data from the forums (users, moderators, posts, etc.) will be kept. All the current www.macaddict.com/forums URLS should continue to work after the migration. There will be only two changes: it will be hosted on a new server, and have a new skin to be consistent with the new site design. We would be very appreciative to have some help from the forums administrators to be sure this migration takes place without any problems.
On the morning of the 8th around 9am PST, we will post the maintenance page in the forums, to shutdown the macaddict.com forums. We will use this stopping point to export the data, and import the data to the new forums. Once we have completed the import, we would like to have an administrator test the forums to be sure that our import was successful. We anticipate the import to be complete by approximately 11am PST. We will also be moving the Forums from the InnoTech server to a direct, on-site server. However, we will still be moving them over lock, stock, and barrel, with no changes other than to reskin them to match the new MacLife.com look and feel. We plan to open the forums backup by 5pm PST, although it will most likely be available earlier. The new www.maclife.com site will also be available at this time.

Damn.
I was hoping Mac|Life would be a MacAddict service providing what .Mac should be.
I will have to buy a copy of it when it comes out as Mac|Life.
I do have to wonder though what prompted the change - MacAddict was an established brand name.
And damn - something must be wrong with me. I've had one beer today - and suddenly, I feel spacey. I bought a six pack on new years eve. This was the fifth I've had (3 new years eve, one yesterday, and this one) - and the only one to go to my head like this. Weird.
