We had the flu beginning Christmas day and all that week (I was out sick the remainder of that week as was my wife - both kids home from day care with us - all just sleeping constantly, temperatures, etc).

I still have a cough and even coughed up blood yesterday morning (hasn't happened since but I'm freaked). It could be due to my violent coughing fits I was having or from blood in my nose from the dry weather and sleeping on my back or using prescribed Flo-Naze up my nose to clear it for the 1st time the night prior. Who knows - still awaiting chest x-ray results. One kid is 100%, the other has an occasional cough and the wife has a cough still.

Whew,  I sure am glad that I have that SUPER IMMUNITY to all things germy.

I even managed to make it through the better part of a week in NY durring X-mas and haven't managed to get anything.  We shall see what this wacky southern weather has in store for me though.

I got teh flu

I thought it was funny that Malkin called it a flu jab. 
With all the needle-free advances people are making (bioject, crossject, etc.) people may be confused by our slang in the future. 

As a Trekker, I eagerly look forward to the very near future when doctors will just all use hyposprays. 

Sick, like I've never been in a couple years.  Caused by congestion, nose -> throat - > cough.  Took a few days, but I'm through the first two, now my lungs are clearing up.

Yep.  I had a severe cold that started on New Year's eve which somehow transitioned into days of major stomach problems.  I think the cold was exacerbated by my spending nearly the entire day yesterday in our very cold, wet, smoky, and now moldy house.  Now I'm having trouble breathing and have a nice barking cough.  Hello, bronchitis.  I'm very run down and have lost about 10 pounds over this ordeal so I'm sure that doesn't help matters either.

I think the last time I was actually sick was when I got the flu about 7 years ago in 8th grade. (of course, that was after sitting next to somebody for 3 periods straight who had a mound of tissues on her desk; ironically, she left school right after the last class we had together) 3-4 years ago I had an allergic reaction to scallops and felt pretty bad that night, though fortunately didn't throw up, but I'm not sure that "counts" since that wasn't caused by a disease of any kind. (we knew when I was little that I was allergic to scallops, but we didn't think of it then, and also it could have been a phase; it turns out I was still allergic to them, but fortunately they only give me an upset stomach. Only thing I've had that I'm allergic to, funny enough)

How often do people usually get sick? I knew that my case is unusually unfrequent, but it seems like a bit more from reading this thread than I thought.

I could easily think that the trauma from having your house burn down could cause you feel sick all by it's self, not to mention the effect severe stress has on our immune system.
Take care of yourself. I'd bet you arent even fully aware of all the stress you are carrying now but it can really effect you.

I'll get a runny nose for about a day every few months but so be fully sick with the sore throat and headache it is every few years
