Digital Camera? What do you use?
I'm interested to see what digital cameras are used by MAF members, so I suggest some camera info, followed by a shot (or two).
Mine is a Ricoh GR Digital. It's pricey for what it is: fixed lens, no zoom, but the quality of the lens, and therefore the pictures, is amazing (Ricoh supplied this lens to Leica). It's pretty much a manual camera, which is why I bought it. I got tired of pointing and clicking and wanted to 'take' the photo by understanding how it all works. So far so good, but still a lot to learn!
Here's a couple of shots from the woods...

Re: Digital Camera? What do you use?
I use a Canon EOS 10D, but it's really old so I'd like to get the 1Ds Mark II someday....crazy thing, it's about $2,000 cheaper in America than it is in Japan.

Re: Digital Camera? What do you use?
I shoot with either my Canon 5D with a couple of L series lenses or my Mamiya RZII with a rented back such as one of these. I rent them as they are just too bloody expensive to own at this point.

Re: Digital Camera? What do you use?
I've carry a Canon 400D when I know I'm shooting and a Canon SD400 that I carry with me 24/7. I've also got an Olympus C4040Z that I still use because it's very infrared sensitive but as soon as the holidays are paid off I'm going to get my old 300D converted for IR and retire the 4040.

As someone who has never yet taken a decent photo, I own a Fuji FinePix F11. It's small, sexy and does the job insofar as 'snaps' are concerned.

Canon Digital Rebel. Replaced the lens from the kit with a Canon 28-105 USM2 lens, which makes a world of difference.

Re: Digital Camera? What do you use?
My first digital camera is one I got as a gift for Christmas...a Fuji FinePix A500. It works great for taking quick pics of things I'm interested in. If I need real high quality shots of anything, I use my Pentax 35mm.

I currently use a Nikon CoolPix 3200. It does a fantasic job of what it does. I am looking to step up to some kind of entry level SLR soon though.

Re: Digital Camera? What do you use?
I got a Fuji Finepix 650. It seems to work well for my casual picture taking.
Im also hoping it lasts longer than my last 2 Canon A series cameras did.

@macnuke: Which Coolpix is that?
My digicam is feeling quite envious right about now. It's ancient and well in need of an upgrade. It's a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S50.

Re: Digital Camera? What do you use?
I want a totally manual digital camera with a removable lens. No automation whatsoever besides a built in light meter (and analog preferably) I want to be able to select the relative ISO, the f-stop, and the shutter, then take my picture.
No digital menus and small grey electronic icons, just knobs and rings and maybe a simple image LCD on the back for preview.
Does this camera exist? If it does, who bought it and who is using it? If it doesn't, would you buy one? Lord knows I sure would.
I also think it would sell like crazy, but maybe I'm wrong. In this digital age, the image capture tech is great, but the interface design upsets lots of people I believe. Plus, too many "features" in camera operation are just ridiculous. Any style/kind of photography can be easily captured using the 3 variables mentioned above. Why add more?
Any camera without an f-stop ring is frustrating to me though...

Well, on second thought I'd like a rotating knob on the back of the camera that controled the Kelvin temp. That way I could dial it in myself and not be locked into three or four white balance presets. Plus, if it was a rotating click knob, then I could just turn it 'til I got my color to where I like it; maybe increases in a hundred or so Kelvin every click? That would be sweet.
On bright sunny days I'd bump it all the way up to 7000 and be able to get a warm tone on even the blue-ist days.... Ah, dreams of what could be... or maybe it exists?
I really don't know. Haven't shopped for a cam for a long time.
