Take a look at my website. Let me know how it looks.
Its one I've been working on for a while now. It' my personal/portfolio site. Basic design layout is done, just need to flush it out with content. Some stuff doesn't work yet. The "work" catagory is the furthest along. Both "approach" and "sevices" catagories are going to be deleted.
heres the link. Temp hosting it on mom's site.

Flash?
::braces for firestorm::
The fonts are a bit fuzzy/jagged in places, and I can't click on any of the sublinks under services, but otherwise I like.

Re: Take a look at my website. Let me know how it looks.
So you're not keeping any of that content?
Also, it may be an exercise in futility to have a link to get flash in a flash item.
Maybe have that just as pure html anyway?
Furthermore, on flash, if you're a business that's trying to get exposure, search engine hits are a good way to start. You'll get very few right now, as flash is crappy at being indexed. Also, it makes it impossible for those that use a text only browser such as lynx to view your site, as well as people who are disabled in a way that affects their web browsing.
On usability, I didn't like having to wait for the moving bars to move across so I can read your content; and that's not a reflection on the content. Make them fly across (quicker than they currently do), or just make them appear, but it felt like they were crawling across the screen before long.
I also didn't like having to click 3 buttons before I got to look at your portfolio.
Lastly, flash is bad because it seemed tiny in my browser. The fixed sized thing isn't good for anyone.
To finish, I must say I'm not even a web professional - you most likely are. Positives of the site design include a clean, crisp and consistent interface. The colours don't clash, and I'm not immediately turned off. I can read all the words, and you've obviously put significant thought into how you're going to present your business.
Please don't change anything drastically on my words, but take them as an indication of what someone else on the web thinks.
Hope I helped in some way,
jb

I think the flash is completely unnecessary. get rid of it, do the site in HTML. It'll load faster, get better results in the search engine, be less annoying to users, and bring great wealth and prosperity to you and your descendants.

I closed it as soon as it started loading at me. I'm just one of those guys who does that. Nothing against your site, it's just that it's Flash, and when I don't see where a link goes in my browser's status bar, I don't click it.

Re: Take a look at my website. Let me know how it looks.
Flash is a type of file, like mp3s and html documents. html document may contain references to flash movies.
To create a flash file, you will need a program to do this for you. You should considering reading up on Adobe Flash.
For full capabilities of flash, you will need to purchase Adobe Flash. However, you may be able to create less functional files using different applications.
Flash websites, however, have downsides, which I've already mentioned in this thread.

Re: Take a look at my website. Let me know how it looks.
Thank you all for you constructive feedback. My reason for using Flash s that it is all that I know right now. I would love to do it in HTML and have been sourcing friends to translate the design for me as per your recomendations.
The existing content is just a few of the projects I have done. There will be many more in time.
It feels good to get some feedback finally. Its been a sde project of mine for some time now.
Thanks again.
