Re: iPhone

It looks awesome and runs OSX  :drools:

I hope my wireless Provider has enough sense to add this phone to its line up or else I'm heading over to Cingular. Provided the Phone has got the goods.

Re: iPhone

We went through this with the Intel transition, btw. Where I had sources saying "no, they're just regurgitating the same rumours". Pleasantly surprised by the look of this thing. Actually running OS X was NECESSARY otherwise it'd be any other smurfy phone. The possibilities are now exceptional for running it.

Looks like I'm going to have to get a low minute GSM plan.

Who is your wireless provider?

If it's a CDMA provider (Verizon, US Cellular, et al.), we won't have it until they design a CDMA chipset.

Re: iPhone

I swear I am gonna give Verizon a call today and demand they wake the f$@K up and get that phone on their line up very soon or I swear I will drop them. They have been slow to get new phones and when they do add them they tamper with the feature sets of the phone so its a shell of what it should have been.

By the way the Chocolate Phone is DEAD. RIP

PS: Since it runs OSX, could it run Mac MAME? big_smile

pretty much. i asked that about my go phone at cingular if i could swtich it to a new plan w/o buying a new phone they said, sure, just flip a chip. I'm sure it works both ways where you can take the chip and put it into a new phone too.

Re: iPhone

Its on a 2 ear contract at purchase. Damn gona be June 08 before it comes to Australia.

So when they said core tech and OS X, does that mean that any app will run? (as long as the supporting packages are there)

They did the Navi! They did the Navi!

Re: iPhone

I think they've tied it to Cingular just so that they are allowed to sell it. So 2 years of cost ontop.
hmm

Re: iPhone

It means you're hosed unless you already have a Cingular GSM account. wink

If this thing actually works good as a phone, then I am sold.  I have Cingular already and my Sony Ericsson sucks donkey balls as a phone.
