Re: No good-byes????
No, letum stayed. Argus was going to stay but then a bunch of people started to leave so we just went. It was kind of rushed but it sort of worked. I'll probably make a draenei priest or something to hang out on ww occasionally.

Re: No good-byes????
May be a question better deserved for a private forum but, what was the reason the Argus guys decided to leave NAG? Queues?

Re: No good-byes????
There was a group of people that didn't like the high population (queues, crashing, blah blah blah) and didn't want to wait for the rumored server split. It was kind of a messy event and we lost a few people that were relatively inactive but I think most people managed to transfer.
I'm somewhat critical of the haste in which the decision was made but not entirely opposed to moving (hence why I moved).

Re: No good-byes????
Mostly it came down to the 400+ queue at prime time and the increased instability ushered in by the expansion. At first it looked like there wasn't enough time to mobilize everyone but, a couple of fairly core people held the rest of the guild over a barrel so to speak and transfered on their own. Rather than lose these people we up and left, and for the most part is was pretty seamless. So far Zang has been really nice. Low competition for quest mobs, very stable and no waiting log ins. Overall I'd call it a positive move, save missing out on the parade of Wang alts through clanma and tells from groid that he's on the phone

Re: No good-byes????
Ah makes sense. Is the new server PvE like Whisperwind was? Hasty descisons always suck
and you're garenteed to lose people in those circumstances I suppose.

Re: No good-byes????
Groid, are you still on Whisperwind? I just recruited a couple people from my hall and I may as well roll a new toon with them. If you're still around I'd be happy to play on WW again.

Yeah, Zangarmarsh is pve. We aren't in a battlegroup yet so there are no bgs going on at all.

Well the horde actually fight for world pvp objectives, unlike on ww.

Re: No good-byes????
I was wondering how long it would take before folks noticed Argus was gone. I noticed on the first day when my friends list suddenly died.
On the plus side theres now a slight power vaccum on WW. Not only Argus but a couple other of the big groups left. Opens chances for others to grow some. Specially in the healing area. I was getting sick and tired of dealing with mercenary priests who would sell you out faster than you could recruit one. Now at least their options are dwindled so they maybe might settle down more rather than play the 1 day/1 week guild hop.

Re: No good-byes????
Kind of the opposite has occured on our server. We're the only major raiding guild still... in action if you want to describe it like that. Arch Enemy, (they were Stature of the Gods on whisperwind) died, Echoes of Elysium died, and has nothing more than its tightest members left, Forgotten Legacy isn't raiding, and lost the majority of their roster... It's just wierd being the only place on the server doing anything currently. I for one wish it was a bit more like what I think whisperwind is now, lots of opportunity, lots of guilds, that would be nice.

Re: No good-byes????
Not sure if or how much this might be related, but just read this over at FS:
» Original World Of Warcraft Being Abandoned By Players?
This News.com story reports that while Blizzard has generated tons of sales for its MMORPG expansion pack World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, the original game is being abandoned by WoW players as they move into the content of the expansion pack. Here is a snip:
For Kelly Wallace, an Atlanta attorney who had been playing with four level-60 characters in the original game, BC is an entirely new experience. "In my opinion, it's really made WoW a very different game for those folks who had been playing at level 60," Wallace said. "It is as if a big reset button was pressed." Wallace said she has had little trouble transitioning to BC, but notes, like Glerum, that the expansion has basically rendered the original game moot. "This is now the game of Warcraft," she said. "There is absolutely zero reason for players to ever go back to (the original game) because the rewards available in (BC) are better and, for the most part, easier to obtain." But she noted that central locations from the original game, like Ironforge, an important city, are now nearly empty.

Re: No good-byes????
Speaking of priests, on Zangarmarsh some of the new guilds are being idiots. I got involved with one for a quick quest that harassed me and said I should join their "khazaran" raiding guild and how great they were blah blah blah. Ugh, lots of pushy people.

Re: No good-byes????
I don't follow WoW very closely, so worth a mention anyway, I think.
For my own info- is Ironforge 'nearly deserted,' or at least considerably less busy than before?
Games have to grow or die, but big changes are just that, and risky. There's still a hard core of Everquest players, IIRC, but I think the bulk deserted it for EQ II when it came along- at least, those whose hardware met the stiffer requirements.

Re: No good-byes????
Deserted is a strong word I think. There are still a decent size population of leveling players, new Draenai characters or just other alts that frequent Ironforge, but the majority of players who were at the level cap now "hang out" in the main hub city in Outland- Shatterath. Blizzard designed it this way however, as Shat has portals to every other major city back in the old world, and you are forced to go back to the old world to train, and use the auction house, since Shat has neither trainers, nor an AH.

Re: No good-byes????
That article did voice a lot of problems i've found or haven't liked in BC. But it didn't get them all. Right now being at lvl 70 to me sucks. All I do is log on and log off in 5 mins. Just nothing happening anymore.

I'm still only level 63. And I have over 700k rested XP. It's gonna be awesome when I decide to log on one weekend and do 6-7 instance speed runs.
