What is the difference between Vista and OSX?

Re: Iphone
Currently, Apple has no plans of mixing the iPhone with any other cellular companies. However, the switch would be relatively easy, due to the fact that they run off of SIM cards. If they truly wanted to, it would take relatively little effort, and yield not only larger results, but more profit.
The only question is... would these other services offer plans to allow the 'net connections?

Those that watch things happen.

Re: Iphone
I wish I could get an iPhone but no one in my area is on Cingular. We all have Verizon and it's just a whole lot easier to be "IN" the network.

Re: Iphone
Im kinda glad its not on Verizon, which i have. I dont want to get the iPhone for a couple years until all the bugs are worked out. By the time that happens, it'll probably be available for verizon. I hope.

Sprint uses CDMA and iDEN. The iPhone is GSM. In order for it to be on Sprint, or Verizon or any other CDMA carrier, the phone would have to be converted. It is a matter of frequency range and chipset.
CDMA phones do NOT use SIM cards.
This is not a minimal effort in the area of engineering and testing for reliability. It takes months for a phone to get through an approval process at a carrier.
The equivalent of getting the iPhone to CDMA is moving the Mac platform from PPC to Intel. If not planned out years in advance, can never come to fruitation.
