Was my avatar unvoluntarily changed?

This is odd...

A couple of weeks ago, I changed my avatar to a small square frame of Carl from the movie poster for Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters.

It was the same until today, when I came to the forums, and I noticed it's back to my old UHF avatar.

What gives? I didn't change it back. Could someone please explain?

confused

Re: Was my avatar unvoluntarily changed?

Odd... Seems our very own Admin Miles had an avatar revert as well; his is a Santa hat so it seems to have jumped back a couple months...

Mine is unchanged.

Odd indeed.

Re: Was my avatar unvoluntarily changed?

My avatar also reverted to an old one.  I don't know what caused it.  Probably some sort of backup glitch.

Ah. The Tin Foil Hat in me thought that perhaps some sort of C&D action was happening.

Mine still seems to be my usual one and not the Christmas one that I used for holidays.

Re: Was my avatar unvoluntarily changed?

I somehow doubt that's the issue as I disabled browser cache long ago and I still see Mile's and CKM'c avatar rollbacks.

Yeah it was probably some sort of server glitch.

It also keeps doing it.  I upload a new one, it's there for about 15-20 minutes then reverts back.

Testing.

Untouched.

When did you change from the Christmas to your previous current, CtC?

Re: Was my avatar unvoluntarily changed?

It went Christmas to Veer for in like the first week of Jan, then Veer to Colbert in late Feb.

I've made two changes since the Holidays.

Are you deleting the old one first?

It seemed to coincide with macaddict to maclife transformation? Maybe a server migration glitch?

I'll have our engineers look into this -- thanks for the heads-up.

Re: Was my avatar unvoluntarily changed?

It could have something to do with the file extension: it looks like those of us who are affected have multiple avatars uploaded in different formats, and PunBB is preferring the GIF version.

That makes a bit of sense. when a filename is identical except the extension, .gif is alphabetically before .jpg or .png.
