Pefered Potions
Happy Monday folks. Just curious to what potions you take extra time looking for in the AH, wanting, etc...
I have a toon that's nearing 300 alchemy and my bank is utterly full of herbs that I want to use them up to make room for higher level herbs. I'm also trying to finally get my mount as he's level 47 
and I want to make some basic cash to get him that.
I've found so far the defense potions sell really well as do healing and mana potions. (Mind you I like to charge fair rates).

Collect herbs and sell those instead. They will sell for more than the potions you make from them. Put together an Excel spread sheet showing the typical prices things sell for at auction. Then do the math for what a potion costs to make it. I think you'll be shocked. There is virtually nothing made that's worth the price of the materials. if it ain't a rare drop BOP recipe, it ain't worth making more than is necessary to level your skill and keep yourself stocked.

Kirk, thanks for the reply and that sounds intereseting and I might just do the excel sheet. But currently I'm able to buy mats for defense potions and sell them for about 100% markup over cost. I've often times seen some herbs cost way more than I would think they should be on the AH. Like a bundle of earthroot for 5g and then I find a bundle of blindweed for 1g. Maybe it's just the way my server is right now but there seems to be a market for potions. I just need to get auctioneer going again and see how that tracks.
I should also mention a current money maker for me is ********. These have been selling like hotcakes due to being part of the ******** and for some reason no one else sells them on my server.
BTW, I had a great selling session last night and got my mount.

Well alrighty then. Bravo on finding something that makes a profit. Keep it going as long as you can. . . . but don't tell this forum and world specifically what you found that makes a profit. The last time I did that, there were soon a number of people selling the same thing on Whisperwind and my money making scheme went bust. I suggest editing your post above.

To answer your question the potions i mainly use are adepts elixir and elixir of major shadow power...neither of which you can make at 300 :X But I would agree with Kirk that selling the herbs themselves would be much more lucrative for the time being
...but hey, what do I know
