Mac|Life podcasts are up!
Check out the newest addition to MacLife.com: podcasts!
Audio podcasts will be posted every week, and you can download the first one now (subscriptions via feedburner and iTunes are coming online soon). We've also got some video podcasts up, which can be watched through the site or downloaded to your hard drive.
Enjoy! And we welcome your feedback as always.

Just so you know http://feeds.feedburner.com/maclife/audio/ does not load properly. It returns a page not found error.

D'oh! i was just coming back here to mention that. It worked half an hour ago, I swear!
So, um, yes, you can still download it, but the subscription option hasn't been added to iTunes yet, and apparently the feedburner feed is...having indigestion.
Sorry 'bout that. We're working on it.

Finally works.
On slightly different subject, Rick has more bass in his voice than I expected.

Oh, and it's Rik, BTW, not Rick -- Rik being short for Ryszard (cf. "Eastern European," above).

Occasional forum mentions just might get me to listen.

Re: Mac|Life podcasts are up!
Congratulations on the inaugural episode. For those folks like me who remember The MacAddict Hour from back in da day, and enjoyed hearing the personalities behind the magazine, this podcast is a welcome "return" of sorts (all new personalities for an all new magazine).

Re: Mac|Life podcasts are up!
Just listened to the first one in the car on my way to work. Started googling some things as soon as I walked in the door.
Suggestion though...Rik comes through loud and clear all the time (must be that deep voice) while some get difficult to hear at times, although not bad.
Other podcasts I subscribe to are much worse. I have to turn up the radio to hear the main people and get blasted when another person talks.
I'm sure there must be a way to fix volume on specific mics in post-production. Just a suggestion.
Well done, enjoyable and educational to boot.

Thanks for the feedback! As we get more used to the equipment and recording, we'll definitely be tweaking our levels and whatnot in order to keep improving the sound. Because yeah, I heard that too.

Hearing you guys' voices is just strange. Roman sounds just like my Multimedia teacher's assistant. Susie is the only one whose voice matches the way she looks.

Thanks for the podcasts. I like them. I've a couple suggestions. Avoid using 'um', 'uh', etc. when speaking and avoid smacking your lips, though perhaps that's a mic cuing in some cases.
Thanks again for the podcasts. They'll be part of my regular listening henceforth.

They don't necessarily need to avoid it, just do what NPR does and cut it into fluid, cohesive sentences. Do you think people on the radio say everything perfectly all the time?

Re: Mac|Life podcasts are up!
I would like to say, of all the Mac Live Podcast Personalities (that is the politically correct term, yes?) voices, Susie seems to be least affected by the "Um Bug". I think I might start a tally -- just 'cause -- recording the use of Um in the Mac Live podcast.

Re: Mac|Life podcasts are up!
I listen to every episode of the podcast. It seems hard to subscribe to though. For example, they only way I can get the episodes with chapter markers seems to be through the website and not iTunes nor the RSS feed. All the videos that should be in the podcast (and appear on the maclife.com podcast page) aren't in the feed. Can't you add them, or make a separate (iPod-enhanced?) feed?
I would have emailed the suggestion, but they don't give contact info in the podcast or the podcast page.
