I think he'll be a cracker - because Daniel prophecied that the people of the prince who is to come would destroy Jerusalem - and that was the Romans (Europeans).

Now he may have a claim to Jewish heritage - if he has a maternal ancestor who was a Jew, he can claim it. Wether he will or not I don't know. I suspect he will because I suspect he will claim to be of the house of David.

There are some extra-biblical Jewish writings that say the Messiah will be responsible for rebuilding the temple. There are also extra-biblical Jewish writings that say the next Red Heiffer born in Israel without blemish will signify the coming of Messiah.

It is possible that the anti-christ will use those writings and a claim to davidic lineage to deceive Israel. I don't know. But I do think he will be european. Given that the Jews were scattered into Europe after 70 AD - it is possible for him to be both.

What I do know is that he will make a covenant with many to bring peace, but it will be a deception - and that he will perform many signs and wonders, and he will deceive all the nations.

Well, he started the thread and it's relevant to his opinion of the situation in Israel.

I was happy to see that the U.S. moved very quickly in reestablishing relations with the Abbas-led government in the West Bank.

Ethnic Jews are semites and many do have darker skin that Europeans. Many have very european looking skin now - possibly a byproduct of being scattered across europe where many of them did in fact mix blood.

Some Jews are black for the same reason, allegedly the offspring of Dan in Ethiopia - or of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. I'm not sure we know.

But anyway - ethnically, they are very closely related to arabs, and in fact - sometimes you can't tell a palestinian from a Jew just from their phenotype.

That's a non sequitur. He didn't say anything about the world being totally peaceful without religion. He just pointed out that the religious assumption that there will be violence based on "prophecy" ensures that the violence will occur.

I'm not aware of any wars that have never ended - other than wars that are fairly recent and haven't run their course.

However - my religious mindset has absolutely nothing to do with starting wars.

I do not advocate trying to "cause" signs to happen. They will happen at the time God allows them to happen, and there isn't anything I can do to speed it up or slow it down. It would be blasphemy for me to think so. There is one God, and I'm not him, nor does any man have the authority to alter his timing.

I am sure Res is aware of alternative interpretations, he doesnt live in a vacuum. But just because there are different ways of seeing the same thing doesnt mean he isnt entitled to his own conclusions, right?
