OS X Version Question

Hello all ;-).....I hope this question is easier for someone else because I am puzzled. I am currently running Mac Os X 10.2.8 and I'm having a hard time finding versions 10.2.9 and 10.3  with those two, I could at least go online and bring this Mac all the way up to date. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this mission?

Re: OS X Version Question

10.2.9 does not exist.

You can easily find "retail" install CD's for 10.3 on Craigslist or eBay for a modest price;  these are black.  Be careful that you do not buy "machine-specific" OS 10.3 disks; these are grey.

10.2.8 is as high as you can go without buying 10.3 install disks. As mentioned, look for "retail" install disks and you can either upgrade your OS with the installer or do a fresh install of 10.3 and add the 10.3 updates through Apple's Software Update under the Apple menu.

I suggest doing a reformat of the drive and install fresh to avoid any possible problems then update to 10.3.9 along with the rest of the security updates, etc...

All versions of OS X ie: 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 & 10.4 are all stand alone OS's and require buying an install CD or DVD set to upgrade to the next version.

All of the OS X versions have different updates to them so it gets a little confusing sometimes.

they go up to:

10.2 - 10.2.8
10.3 - 10.3.9
10.4 - 10.4.10 (so far)

And all have numerous security, OS and application updates you can easily install automatically through the Apple Software Update. Just use the software update to let you know if there are any updates needed for your specific Mac and OS.
