Flash templates for website...

Can anyone recommend a company that sells flash templates for a photography website? I was looking at oneparticular site, and found a template I really liked, but I'm noticing:

1) No phone support, or option to pay over the phone

2) No secure site to submit payment (no https, asks for personal info and payment)

3) Misspellings throughout website, and from support people I've emailed.

It's really rather urgent, but I can't find any references for most of the companies that sell these suckas.

Thx.

Re: Flash templates for website...

I am sure there are options out there. Then there are javascript and CSS options as well. Personally I hate dealing with the use of Flash loaders just to display a picture gallery. Unless the Flash is really done well and the site content is great I am out of there. This topic has been analyzed to death on professional photography forums: there are just better options out there. Flash files also produce zero search engine performance as well. Of course your needs may vary but I would look to a solution other than Flash...

Yeah. Show some originality and don't make your photography site another of the bazillion "me too!!" look alike flash sites that have degraded the photography scene.
Really it's just a wretched fad I hope fades soon..

I have 2 weeks finish it. Out of those 2 weeks, I have about an hour a day out of 7 days I can work on it.

If you have nothing to offer besides an unsolicited opinion, then smurf off. I don't need you to judge my decisions...what I need is to find a decent template to make this look as good as possible in short order.

Then look elsewhere and don't let the door kick you in the ass.

A thin skin? On a web board?

I am new here but find most of the posts pretty civil and helpful. Still, if you ask a question like "what kind of mustard do I put on my ice-cream" don't be surprised when folks point out you will be better off with chocolate source...

I didn't ask about mustard on ice cream, I asked if anyone had experience with sites selling flash templates. I didn't ask if anyone thought I was making the wisest design choice, I needed to get a site up fast for a friend with no experience in site design...something that looked good because of an approaching opportunity, and they wanted something like this ASAP on the cheap.

Thanks for the link to simple viewer. I think that's what I'll wind up using. Much appreciated.

*edit*

And, I apologize for snapping, Pariah. blush

I would tend to agree with Pariah. shrug

That said, how did you get into this mess? My very own mother could ask me to develop a site in 2 weeks, and I'd say, "nope, sorry, I love you but I need at least 3 months."

Not a mess...pretty easy. If I can help someone, I do. (wink wink, nudge nudge). Whether you agree with anyone or not doesn't matter, unless you're just trying to get a rise out of me at this point. I understand the value of an original design (I'm a graphic designer by day with little to no web experience aside from a basic/intermediate understanding of flash), but this is a quick and dirty "get something decent up so it looks like I have my smurf together" site to help a friend. Nothing more.

If it will sooth the desire of those who still want to play critic rather than answer my question, I'm now designing it from scratch. Out of the hundreds of templates out there, there was only 1 that I was really interested in, and I still can't trust the site, so I have no other option than to just build it. So much for trying to save time, but at least I have an excuse to tinker with dreamweaver cs3.

I will check back from time to time to see if anyone can recommend or vouch for any of these sites, but I won't hold my breath. I guess it's foolish of me to expect much of anything from a web forum. My bad. Thanks to those of you who helped though...especially Maxweb.

Good post Sir,

Let us remember that we are all on a Macintosh web board here. Long live the brotherhood as we could all be stuck using Windows!

In the end this all comes down to the amount of time one has to learn and devote to develop a web project. I myself have strong beliefs on how to approach projects. But I realize that not everyone has the time etc to devote to these matters. So different strokes for different folks.

Best of luck on your project. Be sure to post any specific questions you face along the way and I am sure that we can add some sort of input.

That being said I still stand by the principle I put out on the start of this thread. But the reality is that that there are so many ways to skin this particular cat as the saying goes.

Cheers,

Max

There's communities where a comment like that could result in losing a limb.
