Im In Ur Nursin Home, Watchin U Die

I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Yeah - I saw something on that this morning.
Adds some credibility to where omen stories may have come from - as omens often were cats or dogs, no?

Humans are pattern-seeking animals, but often the patterns do not exist anywhere except inside people's heads. While this is most often applied to visual phenomena, the term for this is pareidolia.

Yeah, without actual data this is kind of a silly story. Not to mention you'd have to put healthy people into the mix since, lets face it, people in the nursing home are all on their way out.

Re: Im In Ur Nursin Home, Watchin U Die

Oscar the cat is so cute, they should make a children's book about him, that way Kids can feel better when grandma goes off to a nursing home, the final page could have Oscar looking heavenward as grandma's spirit waves goodbye to Oscar, but then I also like the Addam's family, so maybe I'm just wierd shrug

Re: Im In Ur Nursin Home, Watchin U Die

I think the reason I like the book idea is because of the second to last paragraph in this article, it's basically what gave me the idea shrug

While this clearly isn't a scientific study - there is scientific basis.
There are dogs that can detect the chemical pre-cursors to epileptic seizures, for example. It would not at all surprise me if there are chemical things animals can pick up that take place as a human body is giving up.

Re: Im In Ur Nursin Home, Watchin U Die

Given that domestic cats are descendants of predators that often prey upon the weak and dying in a herd, there's evolutionary reason for them to develop this capability. A predator that goes after weak or dying prey is going to expend less energy per kill than one who doesn't.

I don't doubt some aspects of evolution.

You've completely zoned out when this gets stuff gets brought up now, I guess. But years of exposure to it makes that completely understandable.
