Re: Windows Live ID SDK Released

I've said this in another thread Daniel started about this: I'd use it to process someone's existing credentials to give them access to content, but I wouldn't replace my current system with it. This could actually be a nice augmentation to lure in some new users who might otherwise be abject to filling out yet another registration form.

Re: Windows Live ID SDK Released

Daniel ... you called me a zealot after i raised an objection about the Windows Live ID SDK.  so who's jumping on who?

potentially, i understand the appeal of one username and one password.  but what happens when that user/password system is compromised?  ALLL of your data is compromised.  every web site.  what if one of those accounts was eBay?   how comfy would you be with having MS linked up with your eBay account?

i don't want a connection between ALL of my online accounts.  for obvious reasons.

Exactly.  This allows people to avoid having to use workaround hacks such as bugmenot for registration-required sites.  It's good for the consumer who has a more convenient and less interrupted browsing experience, and it's good for the developer who can get away with doing slightly less work and still be able to get some decent statistics out of it.
