What would you do?
I've come to a gaming-turning point in my life. I own a Mac Mini - hardly a gaming capable computer, and an Xbox... no, no the 360... just an Xbox. I don't really play the xbox much anymore since I've run out of fun games. Games for it are cheap but I've had trouble finding games that interest me.
I considered buying the 360, but I simply can't justify spending such a large chunk of my summer earnings on something like that. Also would mean I would need a new tv - I can't keep using my 13inch tube for 360 games.
So what would you do? Buy the wii? Buy Homeworld 2? Get the 360?
I spend most of my time at an internet cafe now playing Battlefield 2... most of my gaming time, that is.

Buy a 360 and get a cheap good tv off of craigslist? I am thinking of getting a 360 soon but my ps2 will old me off for a bit. I also do some gaming on my imac

The wii is nice. Doesn't have the same kind of games the xbox has. Part of that might be due to the lead microsoft had in making games for this current generation. If you have an intel mac then you should see more and more games. If not, well your mac probably won't see much in the way of AAA gaming.

Get a PS2. HUGE game selection, and it'll be far cheaper than any of the next-gen systems.
But look for some games you want first, or get recommendations from us

360 and a VGA cable. Hook to Mini's monitor. HiDef w/o the cost.

Re: What would you do?
The Wii is quite a reliable console, compared to the 360, the wiimote is actually very fun and has a low learning curve. Internet connectivity is lacklustre compared to the 360s, but free. and not only can you play all GameCube games with the GC controllers and memory cards, but the Wii has a virtual console that allows you to purchase games that shipped for the NES, SNES, N64, SEGS something, and another console that I don't remember, from an ever-growing collection.
Aw crud. I don't even know how to begin to clean up that paragraph so it is more legible.

Re: What would you do?
As much as I love my Wii, it really doesn't have much going for it in terms of a general audience. There's a derth of good single player games beyond the usual N suspects: Zelda, Metroid, and Mario. I bought mine specifically to play those games. They're great, and I love them to pieces, but if variety is a sticking point for you stay away from the Wii.
I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am very seriously considering the Wii.
(Bat - Halo and I are so totally over, that whore can do whatever it wants as long as I don't hear to much about it).
