iPhone Exchange Program?
Alright Apple...it took you two months and one week to obsolete my 4GB iPhone, and drop the price of the next model from $100 more than what I paid for my 4GB to $100 less.
Bait and switch?
Where is the exchange program so I can get my 8GB model? I won't even demand you give me back the $100 difference.

Re: iPhone Exchange Program?
Apple dropped the price of my 10-week-old device by $200... that's absolute bullsmurf. I would've waited if I'd known I could save 200 smurfing dollars.

I think it's doable since it doesn't adhere to any other planned buying schedule. You guys might get an accessory out of it. Make some lawyers some money.

Re: iPhone Exchange Program?
Unfortunately its not a bait and switch. They advertised a certain product and a certain price and you were sold exactly what you asked for.
Even if Apple knew about the price reductions, etc. coming down the pike, it is still not against business law to do what apple did.
And trust me, I love a class action as much as the next guy.

Class action won't happen and it's not worth it. Going to a store and complaining won't fix anything and isn't worth it. Basically it's complete bullsmurf but we're left with our dicks in our hands and nothing to do about it.

Still, $200 is a bit much for an early adopter surcharge, don't you think?

Imagine buying a car and having its value drop 33% in 10 weeks. Or a computer. Or whatever. If you bought late, sure. But if it was brand-smurfing-new?

Did you seriously just try to equate technology with gas prices?

I would've expected a price drop in a year.

Re: iPhone Exchange Program?
sorry but I find this whole situation to be quite humorous. When the phone was released and you guys bought it, you all said that it was worth every penny and it was so cool. now you want to chuck a tantrum to get some money back or file a lawsuit.

As I understand, the value of a new car drops thousands of dollars the moment you drive it off the lot.
I'm really sorry you guys got burned by the price drop. Really! (

Absolutely.
Is this actually a different version, or just a cheaper price?

They dropped the 4 gig model from the lineup completely, and dunked the price of the 8 gig one by $200.

The early adopter tax ? I'm glad I paid, in my case. I needed Internet this summer while away from home.
