Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
That Intel must be it.
Assuming you run the Intel Xserves 12 hours per day, this should be sufficient to complete the big proteins in the short timeline that Stanford has stated (demanded ? required ?).

Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
I suspect that Otsep fiddled with some utilities that were blocking WU reportage.
I almost lost my dentures when I saw that 41,000.

Hokey smoke.
Spirit was crushed; now is fading, But I want to help make things right.
Because I can see and I can feel, and you can see and you can feel
So why don't we both either stand up and fight
Or at least together we'll call it a night.

I do have F@H on my Intel iMac, maybe it's helping the numbers. I have the Xserves running from 1700 to 0700 every day.
By the way, are you able to allow your Xserves to run full-time on weekends? That is what I am doing with my workstations. My points get a big boost on Sunday and Monday. My crontab looks like this:
0 18 * * 1,2,3,4,5 cd ~/Library/.FAH/; nohup ./fah5 -local -advmethods -forceasm &
0 7 * * 1,2,3,4,5 killall fah5

Sweet. I'll put that in tomorrow.

Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
Designating today Sept 17, 2007 as a new all-time high for Team Folding daily output with an adjusted score of 40,000.
Team daily average is 36,400.
Otsep's temporary adjusted daily average is 11,000 points per day. I calculate an overtake of Kamizuno in 35 days.
In 7 more days, we'll get a more accurate picture as the old skewed data disappears from the daily average, and as Otsep's adjustments of the crontabs for the Xserves to include round-the-clock weekends take effect.

Major congrats to cooperative installing efforts between Otsep and Royal Wombat ArtemisG3.

Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
Is it safe to change the directory name while it's working? I just want to change it to be hidden.

Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
It's probably safe to change the folder name. But you'd have to adjust the crontab's pathname.

(too sleepy to say in detail and with certainty...... one of the Team installers in the past had an invisible option and that was nice.) Nite.

Thanks to everyone who helped.
Recently my grandmother's Alzheimer's advanced to the stage where she had to be put in a home. I remembered stumbling on F@H a while ago and this re-sparked my interest. Being able to participate in this endeavor with fellow Mac-Evangelists has been very fulfilling.
Thanks again.

Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
A lot of the powerful teams have Playstations III with Folding. To my knowledge, the Team has 1 such folder.
About a year ago, most of Belloq's armada was hijacked by another medical research program, mainly related to cancer in some fashion.
Many team members had only mid-range G4's for quite a while. Now we've recently been adding at least 1 PS3 and several Intel iMacs, just prior to Otsep's arrival.
------
Otsep mentioned his grandmother's battle with Alzheimer's. Any kind of medical damage is a waste of good manpower. Folding takes on a number of these enemies. So, I joined the Team a few years ago.

...me.
It spends more time folding than it does playing games.

Re: Distributed(Xgrid) F@H
14 more. So 36 more for today. I think that's all the systems I can scrape together.... for now.
I'd like to break 400 CPU's. There should be a prize or something.
