[MA] May be disappearing.
Brace yourselves. It could get consolidated into one big, general [MA] forum (rather than having divisions like we have now), or it could get mashed into Games or even removed completely. If you'd like to keep things the way they are, PM the admins, mods, etc and voice your concerns. I'm trying to keep at least UT, Halo, and Warcraft where they are, but it could go down any other way from what I'm pulling for.

Right now MA Halo is a little weak. But, it should pick up once Sept. 25th rolls around.

I think the clans would be more active if we had leaders who could schedule matches, keep everyone updated with clan specific news, etc. Mostly its the members that do this now, rather than one specific leader for the clan.

Give us 2 1/2 weeks, [MA]Halo will be full once again.

Would be more than happy to lead up a MA H3 clan once the game rolls around. Unless we have a new Meude Fan Club.

Matches require people showing up for one. Schedules are always a problem to get around. I'd schedule in R6 battle league events for Recon long ago and i'd get tons of interest but maybe a couple show up who actually want to get serious. Then later i'd find out that the rest never bothered to stay up to date on division plans. It does wear down the leads when that happens and then stuff turns to a big melting pot when you have one person trying to keep things going while the rest are into about a dozen other games at once.
It does sound easy but when your trying to pool everyone together for it, its another matter. I've gladly offered to host Halo matches too in the past but in the end there'd only be a couple show up for em.
If this is what you want to do, folks gotta be active on the forums and ready to go.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
We didn't have many matches per se, we mostly had events- Overpower weekends, Demo Derby, etc. I organized quite a few. We also had many great pickup games, got together to help Ear with his Halo machinima school video projects, fought (and won) a memorable duello with other Mods despite their getting loaner help... anyone doubts me, the Worlds' Largest Screenshot Collection backs me up.
Complex events forced me off PC gaming early '06, so natch I wasn't the sparkplug I had been. Almost ready to return. Really. I won't have as much time as '03/4, but some, and capable hardware.
Edit: it looks like the Clan part of the reorg is on hold 'til we hash things out some more. I think we can still find one or more acceptable, even good paths to take that don't involve nuking all of the rooms like this, at least for awhile. We live!

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Guys, please stop spreading FUD.
There was a thread asking for what you want and for the leaders of [MA] to get involved since there was an opportunity to change things with the forum reorg.
You guys came up with nothing so nothing is going to happen. Period.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Its not FUD, really. It was being discussed, and despite some mods saying "let's avoid the mass consolidation" it certainly was sounding like it would get axed. And since you said it would go down today, I wanted to warn my forum members before their playground got plowed.
As its currently on hold, hopefully it won't go down that way.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
If you looked at every one of the plans for the forums you would have noticed at the bottom:
Clan MacAddict
Changes per [ma]'s request
Or something similar. We were never going to do anything they didn't have input on.
It's FUD, plain and simple.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
I know what the discussion in the Squad said. I also know that
There is some talk of booting [MA] to it's own server. Thoughts?
doesn't win over so many hearts as simply saying
M|LF is planning reorganization of its forums, and the question has arisen as to what can/should be done with the [MA] clan forums, due to their slump in activity.
More flies with honey than with vinegar, and all that.
And really, I'm not trying to fight with you at every turn. I'm glad you were around to post about this to the Officers, while I had little time to do much more than lurk last week. More to say on that, but I'll PM it to you.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Er, okay...
Anyway, feel free to start up a thread in general to discuss what you guys want to do. While nothing is going to happen this time around I'm sure something can happen later. Although I doubt the staff will ever give you guys a separate forum hosted on these servers due to them being gone all the time.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Oh yeah, I know that option will never happen. That's why I proposed seeing about having the content backed up so Llevi can see about getting it running on MA3. That's a compromise: [MA] keeps its forums, albeit on another server, and M|LF gets to clean up its forum index a lot more, while also not having to worry about managing a new class of member access to clan forums.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Yeah, that was one of the suggestions being tossed around. Still would be a good idea to know if everyone likes that idea before we bug the staff for them to give you guys the backup for the [MA] parts of the forums seeing as how it will probably take a month or something for one of the staff members to get back with a response.

Might've helped if certain 'HA!'ers weren't always complaining 'bout getting blowed up by grenades that "weren't even close," or trying to rack up solo kills during CTF.

Laugh if you want, but my experience working with groups says that people can't decide on a date or time unless someone sets one. We all sit here and debate when to get together, and nothing ever gets done. If someone said "We are having a overpower weekend on September 15-16 starting at 7:00pm CST both days." People would have a reason to go online and show up. It gives them something to schedule around. If you can't make it, then try for the next.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Might I ask why? I mean... sure clean out the UT99, Ghost Recon, Jedi Knight etc. But, it's a forum, it doesn't really take up any "space" or extra bandwidth or anything... And we should really find ways to recruit. Is there any possibility to get something put in the magazine or the front site letting people know? There's probably plenty of subscribers who are gamers and don't even know there's a forum much less a clan.... right?

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
I need a few more days to get a gameworthy PC, been quite awhile (long story). That's a big part of why I haven't been on nor proposing/setting up events in a coon's age.
Also MA3's down pending resiting. Levi's on it.

Re: [MA] May be disappearing.
Do we even have an official ClanMA site anymore? I remember one back in the day with UT99 and such, various skin links and downloads and server IPs....
