Hillary's Prayer
http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature … rayer.html
This is a very interesting article about the future President of These United States. It seriously troubles me that she believes that God made her a Senator, and that she will soon believe that God made her President.
As someone who is not religious and does not believe in any supernatural powers, it's disturbing on that level. As someone who believes heavily in the political sovereignty of the people of the US, it's disturbing that Hillary doesn't understand the fact that the people place her in power.

Re: Hillary's Prayer
Dynasties are bad.
George W. Bush is the son of George Herbert Walker Bush, President #41, and a relative of Franklin Pierce, President #14.
Hillary Clinton is married to Bill Clinton, President #42.
It's a bad thing that out of the last ~20 years, the Presidency has always been in the hands of the two families.
When you're just not the first person in your family to be the one with the power, it's probably fairly easy to feel as if it's your destiny.

Re: Hillary's Prayer
What's particularly bad is how pathetic the two families are.
As for the prayer thing ... well if one believes in God, one probably believes He has a plan and therefore influences everything, including who gets to the Senate and who doesn't.
Fate, God ... whatever. Not a big deal.
It's where people institute policies because they're told to do so by God. That's where it gets really scary.

She's just pandering. Trying to be all humble, instead of saying what she (hell, every politician) thinks privately. Namely, that they are the best thing since sliced bread.

It's odd to pander by joining a private group that few members of the public are even aware of.

Meh. She's a politician. I'm sure she panders to plenty of groups no one's ever heard of.

Re: Hillary's Prayer
She's running for President. There is no way in Hell that an atheist would be elected President of this country in this political climate. We have only one avowed atheist in Congress. We've had Quaker and Unitarian Presidents in the past, not sure that would even be acceptable - or someone who wasn't Christian.

I guess that must be why Hillary has always seemed so smurfing creepy to me.
Just what we need, another president on a Mission From Godâ„¢.

Hillary uses Haitian voodoo dolls on White House christmas trees provided by Jean-Bertrand Aristide, a known communist.
She also murders people like Vince Foster.

Do the Clintons have the same astrologer as the Reagans?

To be fair, she doesn't actually say that in the article, except in the most weasely, hedging, politician-like prose.
She did vote for the Iraq war, tho.

QFT, and
If hell was in most presidential candidates would say they were on a mission from Satan. Most if not all politicians are fake and are trying garner as many votes as possible. Pander to the largest constituency and the chances for you of getting voted in jump tremendously. The bigger part of the population could give a damn about critical issues. This concludes the obvious report for the day

I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

A black man, or a woman has no chance of winning the presidency in this county yet. Sometime in the future yes, but it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

Re: Hillary's Prayer
Hillary can have a chance if she can trip up Fred in the debates. She's certainly smarter than him. She just needs to get him discussing something that can't be dismissed by glib talking points.
Of course, that's assuming that she isn't beat out by John Edwards.

I have no problem with them having religious beliefs, just with them making it out that God has anything to do with our politics. Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's.
