Great-sounding headphones that don’t cost an arm and a leg are kind of
like aliens--you’re pretty sure they’re out there somewhere, but
they’re really hard to find. Yamaha’s EPH-30 earbuds should come
packaged like a flying saucer--they offer a terrific listening
experience at an affordable price.
As quickly as iPhone OS 4.0 was shown off, developers and critics alike began a debate over the infamous “Section 3.3.1” which appears to prohibit third-party software such as Adobe Flash from creating apps that circumvent the iPhone SDK. At the center of the controversy is Daring Fireball’s John Gruber.
If you believe the veritable swirl of rumors leading up to today (as well as the fact that Apple’s web store is currently down as we write this), there will be new MacBook Pros unleashed today. But we might have the specs already!
We're pretty big fans of duct tape. The day we can't find a roll around the house for quick fixes is a pretty dark day. We even buy it in fancy colors (red duct tape for special projects, blue for serious ones).
And the only reason we haven't plunked for an iPad is the cash. But let's say we sold our plasma, scraped together all the change in our couch, sold back some CDs (we'd already ripped), and used our last spare penny for an iPad. What would we do to keep our investment safe?
When it comes to security, Apple users have had it very easy for a long
time. While their Windows peers have struggled with viruses, malware,
and trojans, the biggest security worry Apple users have faced is the
(largely apocryphal) prospect of being mugged if they’re wearing white
earbuds. Read on to see why this might not always be the case.
I really like the camera on my iPhone 3GS. It’s not perfect, but I’ve pretty much stopped carrying the Canon point-and-shoot that used to stay with me always. But there’s a specific situation where I really miss that camera--trying to capture either a self-portrait or a self-taken shot of me in a group. Since I can’t see the iPhone’s screen when I point the camera back at myself, it’s hard to hit the shutter button right. Any tips?
Apple makes great computers. They run well, and look fantastic. But like all
computers, they can break down or become less useful over time, though that
doesn't mean the old gear doesn't still have some life in it.
Another browser solution for our mobile devices is on its way to the App
Store. Opera Mini will be available within the next 24 hours, depending
on where you live. It is a free download for either the iPhone or iPod
touch, and it works for iPad, too--though you'll have to embiggen it.
