Emross War, a free-to-play strategy MMO game, has launched in the App Store. This high fantasy kingdom-strategy simulator starts the player off as a young lord who has just inherited a castle. From there, it is your duty to expand the kingdom and defend your people against the almost-certainly-umambiguously-evil "Chaos Army."
There's no need to fight this war alone though. This is a massively multiplayer game, so you can recruit your friends and build an alliance of kingdoms. The gameplay itself seems similar to something like Farmville, at least in terms of structure. You build structures like a barracks, farm, or gold mine to produce goods to power your kingdom.
Make no mistake, Emross War [iTunes Link] is every bit as nerdy as it sounds. The story has something to do with an old conflict between the humans, elves, and orks. So yeah, this is pretty much the highest order of geekery to be found anywhere on the App Store, but that's also why our interest is piqued. Everybody needs to satiate that Dungeons & Dragons epic adventure craving sometimes. We're just hoping Emross War is up to the task. If not, then we'll just have to return to slashing up demons in Dungeon Hunter 2 [iTunes Link].
