Riding over the Bay Bridge thinking I was all that on my Ducati, bob-n-weaving through commuter traffic, when a strange bird shaped shadow was cast over the upper deck... Just as I looked up, I heard something even bigger than my aftermarket Termingioni pipes, the Freakin" Blue Angels were practicing for Fleet Week and flew right alongside the bridge then over the city.
Big, and awesome.

Saw the World Trade Towers. Had Brunch with my girlfriend at Windows on the World near the top...and then we were on the roof. I still have a photo of her cavorting on it. Amazing view of the BIG city!

I remember the presentation where Mr. Jobs unveiled the iPhone. Those in the building, as well as myself sat there awestruck by how big a deal this was and its implications to the entire mobile phone market, Big.

My first concert, I was 15, it was summer in Miami 1992, and the concert was Metalica, Guns & Roses and Faith No More. Talk about the first time seeing/hearing something big. I couldn't get the ringing out of my ears for a week!

In December of 1996 (my birthday month), I happened to be sneaking around my parent's room when I overheard this:
Mother: "Make sure you hide that Nin-teg-a 49 from Matt, he'll find it."
Father: "It's called a Nintendo 64 and it's safe and so-- is someone crying?"
There I was, bawling on the floor out of sheer happiness. My life began at that point.

The time I saw something big was when I saw a microSD card compared to a floppy disk.
Not to mention my current headphones are crapping out on me, so I would really like a new pair of headphones. So then I could listen to my music on a BIGGER scale than before!

My husband and I were enjoying a nice sunny afternoon on our back deck when we heard a very strange "cry". It was constant and coming from somewhere near the pond. When we got up to investigate, we found a big bullfrog being eaten by a snake. What we heard was the frog's cry, but what we saw was a snake with big frog eyes and two legs! It looked like some foreign creature that was half snake ... half frog.

I was on a safaria in Africa, and a great big Girafe came up behind the vehicle (it was stopped because we were looking at an Elephant :D) and scared the crap out of me. :P

Launching Excaliber fireworks mortars with my neighbors in the cul-de-sac last Fourth of July.
To see three grown men running around like kids at Disneyland with monster fireworks bursting directly overhead was a sight to see. The only thing missing was a soundtrack!

So I'm walking in NYC under scaffolding (because there's just not enough scaffolding in NYC to begin with #sarcasm) and there's a woman steps in front of me. Just as she's about to peak out from under the scaffold, a large cinder block fell right in front of her. How it missed her I'll never know. I started to bolt across the street and called her to come my way.
Scary as it was, I'll never forget the sound of that block hitting the pavement just steps away from me and inches away from her. It had to have fallen from 10 stories and there was this huge crack in the concrete below when it landed.

Well, I saw New York City from the top of the Empire State Building. That's one big city, and one big sight, on top of one big building. I could keep going on and on and on.

I was 19 years old standing on the deck of the USS New Orleans and looked up into the clear blue sky to see and hear two sonic booms just prior to large chutes opening and the capsule dropping to the water with a huge splash just off the bow of the ship. I still am amazed at the big sound of that event. It has stayed with me my entire life.

I did a backpacking trip this past summer in Colorado, and climbed to a peak at 13,000 ft. Now that was a BIG mountain to climb. The air is definitely thin up there! I'm getting short of breath just thinking about it...

The biggest sounds I've heard were during my deployments to Iraq. I can't really go into anymore detail than that on here, but I'm sure anyone reading this can use their imagination and be pretty close to accurate.

It would have to be the 1st Bonnaroo 2001. After spending 14hrs in the car waiting to get a camping spot we finally got camp setup and decided to venture out. The scene was nothing short of a Heart of Darkness journey, as I made my way up a gravel road there were the ever present sound of tribal drum beats from various drum circles, a slight haze of smoke veiled the area to the side and vendors hawking everything imaginable. I still can recall that every type of beer was two for $5 and heady melt-cheese being sold from a small propane stove. The one thought was how MANY people were here, how large was this gathering. The closer I got to the stage the more I felt like I was in some tributary of a mighty river flowing to some unknown destination as people poured in from all sides as we finally made it to a large amplitheather seating of 50 or 60 thousand music fans already enjoying the show. As I settled in for and unbelievable night of music I kept thinking how you could feel so insignificant and at the same time feel apart of something so big.

I was in Israel in the summer of 2006, during Israel's war with Lebanon. One night when I was camping outside, my group of friends and I heard the deafening roar of the F-18's and rockets over our heads soaring toward the border. It was insane how loud they were given the fact they were so high up. Two days later we were evacuated to the south because of all the bombs heading our way.

Every time I try to submit my story, it gets marked as spam!
This is making me crazy!
When I was 6, my mom and I were at home by ourselves. My brother and Dad were out. Who knows where? I can't remember.
As we were talking we heard a really loud crack and a snap! The hairs on our arms and the back of our necks stood up on end. Chills ran up and down our spines.
Then, we noticed that the TV was smoking. And not with a cigarette.
Our house had been hit by lightning.

One night in October, while running around the Internet jumping in and out of Mac Life and Mac Daily News, I had the Tv on CBS News.
