For my first concert, my friend and I went to a Lupe Fiasco concert that was his launching of his new album, Lasers, and it was amazing! While other people were standing in the main audience area, we found a area where all the band equipment boxes were and sat there during the concert! The seating and view was amazing and it made us stand out to Lupe while on concert! That shout out was the best thing that has ever happened to me in a while by a celebrity!

I have a set of Sony noise-canceling headphones. Like to see how this compares to it....

I met folk musician Guy Carawan a couple years ago. He's one of my biggest heroes. It was pretty awesome.

The Loquacious ...

This one time I went to my friends DJ Party. All of my friends were thinking that he would mess up. When we walked in, we saw how serious he was about being a DJ, and immediately changed our minds. The DJ table he was using was massive! He had 4 turn tables, a billion buttons, and a trillion knobs. Biggest DJ set up I've ever seen!!!

My dad own this bar/birthday parties/ bar mitzvahs type thing call Whirlyball, in IL. So any way one day Michelle Obama and her kids come into Whirlyball for a birthday. There were secret service men and everything! In fact, my dad actually pointed out to them that they were not covering an exit, and with in seconds of my dad saying that, a black SUV pulls up with two secret service guys and they rush to that exit. It was amazing!

Something big, eh? Ok, here's one... It was a beautiful, summertime Sunday night in Vernon Hills Illinois ("Where Nothing Ever Happens") back in 198something. I was driving with my friend Tom around the back side of Hathorn Mall, when we noticed a crowd of people sitting on folding chairs around the north entrance. I decided to park and go see what was up. Turns out it was jazz drumming legend Buddy Rich and his Big Band putting on a free concert. Security had to keep shooing me away fom the stage as I kept sneaking up the aisles to get a closer look at this legend kicking ass live and in person! To stumble upon a personal hero like this was a once in a lifetime happening, and will forever be a cherished memory of mine.

Well, the biggest thing I've ever seen is the room full of love at the viewing of my good friend's 27 yr old daughter who passed away last month. I've never witnessed anything like it. Cadets from West Point lined the hall, as her husband went there and has been stationed in the Middle East. He lost both his unborn baby and his wife and the biggest hearted family I know lost their precious unborn grandson and daughter. There was a line outside the door to view these two angels. We waited 2 hours to say goodbye to her. The love in that room could have filled an entire state. I know for some people, this might not compare to some of the other fantastical stories here, but to me, it is the biggest and most heart wrenching experience I've ever had. Headphones or no headphones, I'm just happy to share the love!!!

Big sound being surrounded by several hundred thousand sandhill cranes on the wing with a like number of both ducks and geese in the surrounding fields.

I was at Macworld 2005. Steve was walking around the floor with the first iPod shuffle around his neck. I went up to him and extended my hand. "Thank you so much for everything," I said. He replied, "Thank you for coming to Macworld. Enjoy yourself."

That's not big, that's HUGE!

This one time, I helped an elderly man fly his house to Paradise Falls. When we got there, I met the BIGGEST bird I'd ever seen! I named her Kevin.

I looked into my crystal ball and saw into the near future... and saw a world faced with HUGE economic crises, LARGE-scale earthquakes and tsunamis, MASSIVE starvation amongst 99% of the population, increasingly BIG numbers of people becoming unemployed, and a HUMONGOUS solar flare and coronal mass ejection that is TWICE THE SIZE of Jupiter that knocks out so many electrical transformers that the ENTIRE world loses electricity and is faced with living in darkness for years... while I sit back listening to music on my iPad (that was protected from the solar flare by being inside a static-shielding bag), the iPad power adapter connected to a small solar panel so I can listen to the BIG, BIG sound of music from the awesome headphones I'll have won!

Biggest thing I ever saw was the Grand Canyon, both from the air and from the ground. It just goes on forever and ever! The most stunning sight I've ever seen!

I heard that a boy died at my old school when a goal post fell and hit him in the head.

Couple months ago in Del Mar Ca, I man was hit at the train crossing ! How is it that he didn't hear the warning bell or the train horn, you ask?? It was another casualty of the iPod. Let his death be a warning that tuning out on your daily walk can be the biggest mistake of your life, and then SPLAT.

this one time...this one time I...I...I went to home town buffet. It was rib night. quite the glorious night of ample proportions. From there I sat down with a drink of half DP (doctor pepper for those that arent in the know) and half sprite. I was feeling saucy...perhaps a bit spicy. Then it occurred to me. Why oh why do I not have a soundtrack for this epic flavor vacation im about to embark on. I began to create a playlist in my head. All I could come up with was the final battle scene in Karate Kid...I started to hum at first and then before you know it, I had sauce all over my face and was singing "you're the best" at the top of my lungs. I played the drums with the bones of my past victims and I was escorted out to the sounds of grand applause. Some still talk about that day...some say it was big, but most say it was giant...GIANT. Then I woke up in the SF DMV...holding number 8 million and they were on number 44. You...you are...you're the best. TAKE THAT COBRA KAI!

Mmm...let's see...the biggest (in all its possible meanings, huge, amazing, overcoming, upsetting, moving) thing I've ever heard: a soprano singing Puccini's arias in theatre.. an experience that only those who tried it can fully understand...

As a seasoned Baby Boomer, I finally fulfilled a life long dream of viewing and experiencing a live Shuttle launch, with the July Atlantis launch. It was moving, it shook us in the crowd watching and it was loud.

avatar

I was at a "Fantasmic!" show at Disney World a few years back. After a long musical number, the actor in the Mickey suit raised his arms to set off some on-stage fireworks on either side of him. At the EXACT moment that the fireworks went off, Space Shuttle Discovery had just entered the atmosphere, creating the loudest "BOOM!" I've ever heard associated with fireworks. 1-in-a-million chance

I went to the Grand Canyon as part of honeymoon tour a few years back. When we were touring I saw the biggest friggin Crow i've ever seen. Like the size of cocker spaniel. It was kinda scary..lol

avatar

Godzdude

I went to Penn State for 4th of July, and watched the fireworks! It was awesome! The fireworks exploded to the BEAT of the MUSIC!!! It was amazing!!! I'm also told that they spend more money on that show, then any other show in the country!!!

I've been pretty protective of my ears (thanks to some custom made ear plugs!) but every now and again I'll take 'em out and experience live, true sound. Most recently it was at Steve's Celebration of life on the Apple Campus. Coldplay was pretty freakin' amazing. That's the most recent experience, so I'll go with that. :)

Motorhead at a tiny nightclub in San Francisco in 1981 was just about the biggest thing I have ever heard. My ears are still ringing.

I once saw a really big blue. It was the kind of blue that gets behind your eyes and makes you blink.

The biggest and more craziest nightmare I've had was about 5 years ago and I still remember every single thing that happened in it. It was a BIG, strange and crazy dream.

Ok
first I walked out of my house and as I was walking on the sidewalk a BIG BLACK DOG ate a little Chihuahua so I try to run back to my house and when I got back the house was on fire and my mom was inside and apparently my dad had lit it on fire because he was laughing as he boarding a helicopter. So I started running to my friends house a couple blocks away to get help (i didn't have a cellphone) when I got to my friends house the door was open and nobody was there. I went in and look for the phone when I heard a loud sound outside (something like a flame thrower) so I ran out and there was a HUGE DRAGON breathing fire at my friend and his mom so i ran away as fast as I could and suddenly I was back in my house and the firemen were there there were loud, deafening sirens but they weren't coming from the firetrucks; they were coming from above me. I looked up and there was a BIG BIRD; he was making the loud siren-like noise. I grabbed a rock and thew it at him to scare him away, but I hit him and he fell to the ground dead. Then the cops came (I thought they were coming for the burning house) and arrested me. they put me in the back of the car (apparently the bird was an endangered species) but then I heard a helicopter; it was my dad. he killed everybody and took me with him.
we where fleeing the country when an air force jet intercepted us and shot us down. then the alarm woke me up.
that is the craziest dream I've had.

Not the only one, but the biggest.

I saw "The Mothership Tour" featuring Skrillex, 12th Planet and other Dubstep artists on October 25th in Spokane, WA. The venue was decently small but the place was packed and my friends and I made it to the front row for the entire concert. We were directly in front of 20+ 18 inch subwoofers and when 12th planet took the stage the bass was so hard that it was hard for me to breathe and my friend said he felt his esophagus shaking. Then, when Skrillex took the stage the bass was turned up even more and the entire building was shaking, the lights were flashing and it was the most incredible show i have ever attended and by far the biggest and largest sound I have ever experienced! I left the show unable to hear much at all but I would love to experience even more dub step through these awesome headphones! :)

I remember when I was young, my father took me to visit the Kennecott copper mine in Utah, which is one of the largest open pit mines in the world. He told me to stand next to one of the mine trucks, and then the magic began - the tires of these mine trucks were 7 feet tall, dwarfing my 4-year-old self in incredible ways. That was my first true experience with absolutely huge things. Big. Big. Big.

in 1992 while stationed at USMC base Camp Lejeune in NC. We were performing drills launching a 'Line Charge' which is about 300M of rope with a block of C4 explosives every so many feet.... you launch it from a missile that drops it across the mine field, blow the charge and the explosives set off any mines, IEDs etc in the path, thus clearing it for troops to move through safely.
Another Marine who was in charge of making sure it didn't go off since this was just a training exercise, made a mistake resulting in the loudest explosion I had heard and blew out windows in houses in the surrounding area. due to the damage caused to my hearing by this and other various tasks given to me by the military... I could really use these headphones!

Big is the noise of little boys
While I work at home today;
Big is my need of little toys
to keep their wild play at bay;

Big is my love for my two sons
but raising them is no small feat;
Big is my hope for no interruptions
while I work to a happy beat;

Headphones on my ears
Blocking out my fears;
It would be so kind
to let my nerves unwind;

Big is the noise of little boys
sharing the home in which I work
Big is my want for KNS-8400
so papa don't be a "Quiet down!" jerk.

The passing of mogul Steve Jobs is by far one of the most cataclysmic things I've both seen and heard. The eve of October 5, I was skipping my music class to go to Genius and get my laptop checked out. Being a bit early for my appointment, I sit at the setup desk and dilly-dally on my Macbook 'til my appointment time rolled around. I opened Safari, instead of seeing the iPhone 4s I'd expected to see on the Apple home screen. I see a picture of a face I know all too well, Steve Jobs. Beside his picture was "1955-2011". In the middle of an Apple Retail store, I sit and stare at my computer in disbelief. ( I was hoping it was some sort of anniversary date or a consummate lie) I say aloud "Steve Jobs is not dead?" A man in blue and white, an apple employee, overheard me and confirmed it. The creation of Apple brand and Apple products forever re-shaped modern technology. Not only did our world lose a genius, we lost a leader, mogul and CEO. Undoubtedly, Steven Paul Jobs is a part of the lives of millions daily aspect. If you own an iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, MacBook, iMac of any sort, you were a witness to his genius and all that we've lost in such a successful man.
-A quote to never be forgotten "Steve Jobs and Apple made the things we wanted, before we really knew we wanted them."

My three children have one, my wife has one and it's taken years but finally I've got one now as well and it is the IPOD, (6th gen for me). As for size it's the smallest thing possible really but as for impact - well it's bigger than big, huge, massive, gigantic in fact it's probably the biggest thing to happen to music since the first recording was ever made. So if you want big, look small, the IPOD, in all it's forms it is simply the biggest thing you'll ever see.

As a wannabe Sith, being dragged to a Klingon forum at the local Trek convention. Either that, or the screams of "Shot, shot, shot" in a Zumba class.
