EA delays Mac games: Yup, it was too good to be true. Games giant Electronic Arts says that Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods 08, which were supposed to be released this month, will not ship until September or October. But wait, it gets better. EA says that the other announced Mac titles - Battlefield 2142, Command and Conquer 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Need for Speed Carbon - are available in stores, yet no one can seem to find the Mac versions.

Jobs Exercises Options: Apple CEO Steve Jobs is about to see his bank account grow substantially. He recently purchased 120,000 shares of Apple stock. That's a whole lotta stock, but consider this: His purchase price is $5.75 per share, and Apple is around $117 per share today. Do the math, and you'll figure out that that's a big profit.

Apple patents lead to ulta-portable notebook speculation: Apple filed for a patent for retractable notebooks ports. According to the paperwork, the retractable set of ports include USB, FireWire, and Ethernet. The speculation is that this new feature could be used on a ulta-portable notebook to help save space.

Front Row to have TV icon: Another Apple patents says that Front Row, Apple's media center software, has an inactive icon for TV, in addition to the iTunes, DVD, iPhoto, and movie icons. Now, you can dive into the deep end of the speculation pool with this knowledge - for example, could this mean that Apple is working on a digital video recorder? No one know for sure, but hey, there's nothing wrong with entertaining yourself with the possibilities.

Quicken 2008 for Mac not canceled: The reports of Quicken for Mac's death have been greatly exaggerated. But it will be longer than usual for the update to be released, because of the release of Mac OS 10.5 in October. According to an email sent to the media by Quicken's PR firm Access Communications, "Intuit is currently planning for 2008 Quicken offerings and is investigating the best possible ways to serve the entire Quicken community. With anticipation of the launch of the new Mac OS X (Leopard) and Intuit’s ongoing focus on delivering customer driven innovation, more information around future Mac offerings will be shared at a later time."

In other news: Microsoft has upgraded its Hotmail free storage to 5GB, so now there's plenty of room for your spam. You might not be surprised at who is editing Wikipedia We weren't. And finally, plain soap is just as effective as antibacterial soap.
