EA announces ship dates for games: Following reports that Electronics Arts pushed back the release of Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods 08, EA says that two new Mac games will ship tomorrow. On August 21, Need for Speed Carbon and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be available on store shelves at the Apple Store. Battlefield 2142 and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars will be available at the Store on August 28. All four games are available for preorder at Apple's online store. As for Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods 08, reports say that those games will be released in a "September/October window," according to a EA press release.

Rumor: New iPod nano colors: A report citing "sources in China" says that the new iPod nano will come in cranberry, light blue, light green, matte black, and silver. This follows the rumor that the new iPod nano will have a widescreen.

Yet another iPhone battery lawsuit: Sydney Leung filed suit against Apple, accusing the company of fraud regarding the cost of replacing the iPhone battery. The suit asks for $5 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Leung's lawsuit, like the one filed by Jose Trujillo in July, incorrectly states that the iPhone battery needs to be replaced after 300 charges.

European iPhone coming soon?: With Apple Expo coming soon in Paris, the speculation on possible Apple announcements begins. It makes sense that Apple could unveil its European iPhone plans at the show. Some seem to think that new iPods will be released at Apple Expo, but we doubt it - the iTunes stores in Europe aren't as robust as the US iTunes store, plus, France, Germany and other European companies have taken Apple to task over DRM. We bet that Apple will have a media event sometime in the Fall at the California Theatre in San Jose to announce a new iPod for the holiday season. (No, we don't know anything about a future iPod. We're making a guess based on past Apple experiences.)

In other news: In the never ending HD DVD versus Blu-ray war, Paramount Studios decided to go with HD DVD. Internet TV may sound cool, but it might create a bandwidth crisis. Canon has released the EOS 40D, a 10.1 megapixel SLR camera that can shoot 6.5 frames per second, has a 3-inch LCD, and has a 9-point auto-focus system. And finally, eat plenty of red, purple, and blue fruits and vegetables. They're very good for you.
