Software developer David Watanabe found a peculiar contextual menu while reporting a problem in iTunes. The menu clearly shows the option "DidNotReceive-RentalMovie." Should we be expecting an iTunes rental store soon? Engadget confirmed the contextual menu option. Unfortunately the option has since been removed.

It was good news, then bad news, then good news again for the iPhone last week. Well, this week starts off with Apple announcing the one millionth iPhone sold. That's good news right? Regardless, these results are ahead of schedule and Wall Street has taken notice.

The FCC's "beachfront property" auction of the wireless spectrum currently being utilized by broadcast television, has caught the eye of Apple according to BusinessWeek. The signals which operate at the 700Mhz spectrum promise to provide faster internet access with signals that could pass through walls. Search engine juggernaut, Google is also interested in the FCC auction. Google's Eric Schmidt is on the Apple Board of Directors, awkward.

You have to wonder if NBC is kicking itself with almost the entire iPod line being updated with video capabilities last week. The iPod touch will probably sell a nice chunk of videos on its own. The network's ratings place is squarely in fourth place. We'll see how this plays out as the new television season progresses.

Wait a second, speaking of the iPod touch, it ships without the Mail application found on the iPhone. Is Apple really expecting people to sign onto webmail to check their mail?
