When I upgraded to Leopard, my iTunes would crash soon after launching it. It's distressing to have iTunes crash, especially if you need to sync with an iPhone.

The problem is probably with a third-party iTunes plug-in. If you're having problems with iTunes on your newly-installed Leopard OS, you need to remove the plug-ins. Here's how.

User Library folder.

1. In the Finder, double-click your hard drive, then select your Home directory in the left column. It's located in the Places section, and should have a house icon with your user name.
2. Open the Library folder.
3. Open the iTunes folder.
4. Open the iTunes Plug-ins folder and drag any plug-ins you have in there out of that folder.

Other Library folder.
1. Still in that Finder window, click on your hard drive under the Devices section in the left column.
2. Open the Library folder.
3. Open the iTunes folder.
4. Open the iTunes Plug-ins folder and drag any plug-ins you have in there out of that folder.

JoeSoft's Jax iTunes plug-in caused iTunes to crash when I installed Leopard. JoeSoft's Web site says they "are in the process of updating Jax to be Leopard compatible. This update will be posted shortly after Leopard's release."

Now try to launch iTunes. It should work. If you really like the iTunes plug-in you were using, check with the software developers to see if they have an update available.
