Subcompact MacBook at Mac Expo: AppleInsider says that Apple will introduce a 13-inch Mac portable in January. (No, that's not of picture of the new MacBook. Click on the pic if you want to learn more about the pictured PowerBook Duo.)

Intel's new chips: Intel unveiled its new 45 nanometer processors. The processors are the first to use Intel's Hafnium-based high-k metal gate formula for the hundreds of millions of transistors inside the processors. Perhaps we'll see the new 45nm processors in Macs sometime in the first quarter of next year.

Brits buy into iPhone: British mobile phone provider O2 says the the iPhone is the fastest selling phone in the company's history, but like it was in the U.S., the iPhone launch wasn't without its problems. Check out the pictures.

10,000 iPhones sold on first day in Germany: T-Mobile, the iPhone service provider in Germany, says 10,000 iPhones were sold in Germany last Friday.

iPhone 1.1.2 Jailbreak: Those European iPhones that run version 1.1.2 of the firmware can use Jailbreak to add native third-party apps.

VMware Fusion 1.1: VMware has released an update to VMware Fusion, the virtualization software that lets you run Windows or Linux within Mac OS X. The 1.1 update is free to existing 1.0 users. The update features support for Mac OS X Leopard, "experimental" support for DirectX 9.0, support for Microsoft Vista Boot Camp partitions as virtual machines, and more.

New Mac ads: Apple has released three new Get a Mac ads. PR Lady, Boxer, and Podium poke fun at Windows Vista. Justin Long (Mac) seems to be especially glowing in these ads - perhaps his relationship with Drew Barrymore has put some spring into his step.
