I was relieved when Randy Newman was the artist of choice for last week's keynote. Nothing against John Mayer as a person. He seems to have a good sense of humor and seems like a genuinely nice guy. But the guys music makes me want to nap the day away.

Well much to my disappointment, Prince Valium has been given a new MacBook Air. He didn't even have to show up to the Mac Expo. The guy sings a few songs and BAM, Steve's sending him new hardware.

Maybe if he was around during the lean years I'd give him a break. For example. was he nervously typing away on a PowerBook 5300 during the mid-90's knowing at any moment it could explode? Did he have to learn the intricate differences of the 601, 603 and 603E PowerPC chips in order to make an informed purchase? I doubt it, instead he dated Jessica Simpson and that chick from Ghost Whisperer.

I'd be much happier if Jeff Goldblum was spotted with a MacBook Air. That guy battled aliens with his PowerBook, and he was in the first iMac ads. Even Kevin Costner did that Lisa ad.

Where's the justice?
