Adobe Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen dropped a Flash bomb shell during a conference call saying, "We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone."

Adobe has evaluated the iPhone SDK and believes it can develop a Flash Player sans Apple. Soon the world will be able to enjoy Flash-based internet videos and those ads where you have to hit the monkey for a free iPhone, on the iPhone.

Last month, Steve Jobs stated that Flash and the iPhone didn't mix and urged Adobe to update Flash Mobile. As long as Adobe doesn't get one of those rejection letters, we should be fine.

UPDATE: Bad news, Adobe has released a statement clarifying Narayen's earlier statement.
