Silicone cases are popular because they're inexpensive, easy to put on and take off, and if you can't dock your iPhone with the case on, it's usually quite easy to pry the bottom half of the case off temporarily for easier access to the entire bottom of the phone.
The dock opening on the Sport Grip is not huge. It's the smallest of the first five silicone sleeves we tested. We were able to dock the cased iPhone in our Griffin PowerDock 2 dual-iPhone charger, but some dock-based accessories might not fit. We were also less than impressed by the aesthetics of the cutouts above the touchscreen for the phone speaker and sensor, and the bulky covers over the volume and Sleep buttons, but the case works well, and keeps your Home button covered too.
