modbook

The Axiotron Modbook has had MacBook owners drooling since its announcement. If this tablet/MacBook sounds like it would be a perfect fit for you, but you can't bare to part with your current MacBook, fear not. Axiotron is here to help. Starting this November, Axiotron is taking orders to convert your existing Apple MacBook into your very own Axiotron Modbook. Once Axiotron gets your MacBook they perform a Las Vegas-style magic trick on it, and it magically returns to you with their sturdy chrome-plated top shell, the Axitotron ForceGlass screen, Wacom's 512 pen pressure sensitive (more than any tablet PC, take that Windows!), handwriting recognition, and a GPS module.

Those with tablet envy can place their orders at Axiotron's website. It's pretty simple. You enter your contact info, shipping info, and your existing MacBook's serial number. For the super-rich MacBook owner, you can enter up to three different MacBooks. The Modbook magic trick is starts out at around $1,300.00 for the basic conversion, which saves you about $1,000.00 from buying one of their ready-made Mac tablets.

If you have the extra cash, find yourself bored with your current MacBook's great functionality, and can't stand living life without playing Crayon Physics on a tablet, then this might be the mod you're looking for.
