Plum Record
Take pictures of your audio source right within the app.

Plum Record exceeds in organization. It stores its audio recordings in a Library page, where you can create and name any number of color-coded folders in which to place audio. You can tag each recording with text and photos later, but Plum Record even lets you operate the iPhone's camera within the app, which is really cool.

To transfer your recordings to a computer over a Wi-Fi network, download the free Plum Record Server software (Mac-only). Plum Record writes audio files in three selectable grades of uncompressed AIFF, but Plum Record Server gives you the option of converting those files to several audio file types, including MP3 and AAC, at the same time that it transfers the files to your Mac. That's another great great bonus feature.

Plum Record 2
Organize recordings into color-coded, photo-tagged groups.

Plum Record sometimes turns into a prune by operating very slowly and occasionally crashing. If the developers clear that up, they'll have a delicious treat.

THE BOTTOM LINE

While sometimes hampered by lagging operation and crashes, great organizational features and file transfers make a tasty audio recorder.
