Apple just released a new version of the iOS operating system to help address the issues with the PDF security vulnerability that has plagued mobile Safari users for weeks now. The new versions, iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad, will also disable the web-based JailbreakMe service that we all came to know and love.
Apple has posted information about this particular secuirty update.
Without further ado, allow us to present the eulogy for the beloved jailbreaking work around:
Here lies the web-based JailbreakMe service. He was a fine web application, one that helped us achieve complete freedom from Apple's closed App Store. He will forever be missed, unless we decide to travel back in time and completely avoid downloading any PDFs through mobile Safari just so that we can keep him alive on our iPhones and in our hearts.
Anyway, what are you waiting for? Plug in your iOS device and fire up iTunes.
